Sweet & Salty - Sunflower Seed Butter (2 Pack)

I bought this sunflower seed butter as a peanut alternative and I’m really happy with it. The packaging and art design look great, which is what initially caught my eye. Texture-wise, it’s definitely on the thicker side rather than being super smooth or creamy like standard Skippy peanut butter, but I actually really like that about it. It works perfectly as a direct substitute for peanut butter, tastes great, and offers brilliant value for money. Highly recommend if you need a nut-free option!

This is the last one... Also 0 stars for taste! 0 because I love it too much and I can't stop eating! 5 because I love the taste and texture, which is less sticky than peanut butter, and doesn't stick at the roof of my mouth! I loved both the sweet and salty and the regular one.

I like the flavour of this sunflower seed butter, but I can’t get past the aroma. It tastes like an unsweetened peanut butter mixed with something more wholemeal, but it smells like… paint. I had to open both jars just to check it wasn’t just a broken seal and a gone-off product, because it smells curiously funky and artificial. There’s also quite a thick skin on the top of the product when it arrives, and the colour is a little bit greyer than a typical peanut butter, so the first impressions stage wasn’t great. Once you get past the smell though, which I’ve managed to do by not having it on its own- mixing it with jam when putting it on toast for example- it’s not bad. It’s what another brand would call “smunchy”, not fully smooth but not all that crunchy either but somewhere between. It’s gently salted, but no saltier than several peanut butters I’ve tried, and the saltiness does give it a bit of a moreishness, making me want to go back for more, which is certainly something I didn’t expect when I first opened the jar and smelled it. At ten quid for 660 grams (at time of writing), there would have to be a specific allergen-related reason why I’d buy this instead of paying the same price for 1.5Kg of a Meridian peanut butter instead. But if you need to avoid peanuts but you’re craving something that’s close to peanut butter, then this does a very decent job- provided you can either put up with the smell, or use it in recipes which bury that smell.

Very tasty sunflower butter. Good ingredients, no palm oil. I’ve used it several times in recipes that normally call for peanut butter, replacing the peanut butter with this sunflower butter — there was no difference, and the dishes turned out delicious. Also, the jars were very well packaged for shipping; there was no chance of anything getting damaged in transit.

This is an excellent alternative to peanut butter, especially if you have a tree nut allergy like I do. I've always loved sunflower seed butter and usually buy SunButter. Just a heads-up: Trader Joe's sells a sunflower seed butter that is not nut-free, which I unfortunately learned the hard way. Sunflower seed butter can also be difficult to find in the grocery stores near me, so whenever I see it in stock, I usually buy several jars because there's no guarantee it'll be there the next time I shop. That's what led me to Amazon, where I came across this brand and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. The flavor is delicious, the texture is smooth and comparable to other nut butters, and it spreads easily. Depending on the variety you choose, the sugar content can be a little high, so it's worth checking the nutrition label if that's important to you. Another bonus is the value. If you purchase the two-pack, it actually costs less per jar than buying SunButter at my local supermarket. I'll definitely be ordering this again.

Taste like peanuts, soooo good worth the price. Spreads smooth, healthy will buy again.
