A great space-saver antenna
I am really enjoying using this antenna. I get excellent signal reports even on low power (30-50W). It gives very low SWR (around only 1:1.2) via the built in tuner on my transceiver on 40m, 30m, 20m and 15m which are the bands I most want to work. The aerial, as supplied, has the wire elements crimped into tags for connecting the horizontal elements to the feeder. At the suggestion of another reviewer, I ran some solder into the crimped joints to be sure of a long-lasting connection. This was easy to do after unscrewing the small bolts anchoring the feeder to the plastic centre piece. I also ran glue around the cover of the socket on the bottom end of the slotted line and wrapped both the centre connection and the SO/PL-259 connection in plastic to keep out the English weather. The instructions recommend that ideally this aerial should also be placed at a height of at least 35 feet. This is the only downside of the G5RV design: that the attached slotted feeder is a radiating element, so you have the two horizontal 'legs' and the vertical slotted line to which the 50 ohm coax is attached via a PL-259 plug and each part of the antenna down as far as the coax is a radiating element. Unfortunately it is not always easy to obtain the full extension of the feeder because the reason for using a half size G5RV is that space does not permit a full size one and in those circumstances it is often difficult to obtain the height as well.On the half size G5RV the slotted feeder length is 16 feet. In my garden I could only get the centre of the aerial up at 12 feet, which meant that the bottom 4 feet of the feeder trail away horizontally to the joint with the coax. Despite this I have had very pleasing results and I can very definitely recommend this antenna.

Fit for smallish Garden multi band Dipole.
Fit for smallish Garden multi band Dipole. The bad: - Not resonant on any band. VSWR never below 2.5 so a tuner is a must. - I needed to place an Air-Choke down the feed line to prevent RF getting back into the shack (others might be OK.) - Noisy. Really noisy when you compare it to a mono band dipole. The Good: - Ideal for newbies who have brought an HF rig and a tuner. - Fits in to relatively small plots and can be bent to fit without any loss in performance. - Made many DXCC and interG on 40 when my neighbours telly was off. - Worked Europe on 80 which is pretty impressive considering the size.

Smaller version of the classic G5RV
This is a smaller version of the classic G5RV dipole. It tunes on almost all the Ham Radio frequencies from 40m to 10m within an acceptable SWR.Wires are coated and connected to the ladder directly but there is no isolation, so I'm strongly suggesting to make your own isolation on the junction points. The PL connector is not waterproof, so should be isolated from moisture and water before installing the antenna.Remember: G5RV works perfectly if installed as classic dipole or inverted V. In both cases it must be installed on a non-conductive pole/mast or the antenna won't perform properly.Tested with 100W, Kenwood TS-590S.
