Q: is the peg bail removable so i could possible replace it with a more quality one?

Yes, the bail can be removed. If you pull on each side of the bail with your fingers or pliers, it will bend outward and can then be removed.

Q: Is the heart a deep blood red color, or lighter?

The color can slightly vary depending on what is behind it. If held up, it will appear lighter. While being worn, with no light behind it, it will appear a darker shade of red.
