1970. In the autopsy room of a hospital, Sr. Paulina and Nito recognize the bodies of two former childhood companions: Java and Juanita. His memories go back to 1940, to a desolate Barcelona in which children, lacking toys, entertained themselves by explaining 'aventis' stories, in which they combined what they knew with what they imagined, creating a parallel reality between fiction and reality.
