I don't need this for pain relief but if you need a cutout in the back of the cushion where your tailbone sits, it would be perfect. There is a piece that you can remove so your tailbone is just sitting on air but would still be cushioned around it. I could not see over the steering wheel of my Pilot and needed something to really boost me up that was very sturdy and did not have to be 'attached'. This fits everything I wanted. Sturdy, no straps to have to detach when I need to take it out for someone else like the mechanic, it looks nice, and is just a really great value for the price. The cover comes off to wash but unless you are gnarly, it should not need washing, lol.

The tailbone padding is a nice extra. Overall the whole unit is comfortable but after a few weeks of using it every day you notice it a bit less than your first few days

I got this because of coccyx pain from sitting in traffic for about 3 hours every day. This does help; the removable u-shaped piece at the rear is a nice touch. The size and shape is good for my car (Corolla) and there's a carrying handle should you need to move it anywhere. The texture of the fabric also allows some air circulation, which makes it more comfortable than two of my other cushions. The foam isn't too stiff either.However, after about 5 weeks of use, it flattened out and isn't as effective any more. I'm not a heavy person by any stretch of the imagination, so I was disappointed.

I'd also like to comment, that any of these types of seat cushions that are "dark", with the slip free bottoms, will bleed onto whatever you put them on...and it won't come off. I have a cream color seats in my newer car, which have now turned blue before I even realized it. Also, my white desk chair is doing the same. So, I've had to purchase other choices and will give these to Good Will.

Update to previous review -- I like these cushions so much I decided to order another one for my office, but the one I received appeared used, the foam inside had been mashed down and was NOT as dense as with previous cushions. And I don't mean just a little, when I sit down on the cushion I could feel the seat under me. So I thought it was just a bad day for the Sojoy company, I exchanged it for another one and the 2nd one I received was in the exact same condition. I'm not sure if they changed the foam that goes in this cushion, but something is different and it's not an improvement. I sent back both new cushions that I received.Original review -- I've been using this pillow for tailbone pain. I didn't injure my tailbone but one day I noticed that I couldn't sit without my tailbone really hurting. I went to docs who prescribed heavy duty anti-inflammatory meds but those didn't work long term. I found this cushion and started using it everywhere. In the car, on the couch at the dinner table... Basically if I was sitting, I was sitting on this cushion. After NINE months, I'm finally tailbone pain free. I will continue to use this cushion in the car and on my chair at work. But thank goodness for this cushion!!! Highly recommend. I'm not giving it 5 stars because it's not deep enough to extend all the way to the front off the car seat (where your knees are), so it took some time to get comfortable. If it were deeper, is give it 5 stars, but still I'll recommend to anyone with tailbone pain.

It works to ease the pain in my knee when driving but the outer material gets caught on my pants when entering the car and causes grief until I can get it properly situated .

This cushion works well but expected a little more of a wedge shape. max height was 3" at back

I bought this multi-function seat cushion to use in my car as both support for my back and to raise my height in the seat a little more as I am fairly short. Living in a rural area, I have found it extremely supportive and don't have as much backache after long drives. I would recommend it to anyone who has lower back issues.

I have a medical condition that causes pain after driving for 5 minutes. This product made driving bearable again and even used it on a plane ride. Worth the investment if you feel you could use this.
