wet n wild Nail Polish Wild Shine, Protective Base Coat, Nail Color

I saw someone recommend using clear nail polish to keep elastic string from fraying, so I decided to pick the cheapest option and give it a try. (Note: The string in my photo was already frayed before I used the polish on it, so that's no fault of the product). The polish is not completely clear, but instead has a pink tint to it. The packaging calls this "nail color". This isn't a problem for me at all; the pink is only slightly noticeable if you're eagle-eyed and taking pictures using in a lightbox, so it's highly unlikely you'll notice it under regular lighting. It dries fairly quickly compared to something like super glue. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you're applying it to your nails, but I use a small electronic fan on the ends of my string until it's dry enough to set down on a surface, then let it cure. It covers the ends of the string very well, even with it already being frayed. You don't need a lot of polish for this at all, so this will last you a while if you're using it for the same purpose that I am. That being said, it's evident where corners were cut in order to keep the cost cheap. The sticker is crooked and the plastic on the handle feels very cheap. I attached a video of me tapping on it to give you all a better sense of what the handle is like. I'm not lowering my ranking because none of this bothers me personally and it's to be expected at this price point; I've just included this information to be thorough. Overall, this is a very solid choice for protecting your bracelets from fraying and both a safer and cheaper alternative to other methods I've seen suggested, such as super glue and melting the ends. I'll give an update as time passes!

Works perfectly!!! I use it for my gel polish, I place it onto a mat in a rectangle, do small designs, cure, and peel it all off. So I use it how you use butter on a pan almost, and its great. Whole sheet will come up, easy to apply, dries moderately quick, love it. Color is perfectly clear, and it's worth the buy! Lasts long too.

I’m a man. My nails split on the ends badly. So I glob this on the nail ends to protect them. Some commented on a guy using it. Tough. It does the job

I don't know if this stuff is just overall terrible or it's really old, but it is awful. I put it nicely on my nails, covered with polish, put a top coat on, it looked great ... then the next day it was PEELING OFF. Like I could peel the entire polish off. I didn't bother to return it because it's so cheap and not worth the trouble. I'm using it to dull edges on sharp objects because it will work for that, I think, as long as it doesn't PEEL OFF. The problem is that this listing is for the base coat AND all the colors so all these positive reviews are for the COLORS. ARG.

I liked the product overall, but I think the nail polish lasted less, I don’t know why. Still unsure whether to buy again.

It may be user error, but I find that my nail polish peels off easily when using this polish. I will put two coats of this along with my other polishes and it will still peel within a few days.

The clear base coat is fine. Does the job.

I was checking for chips in the middle of my shift and one of my nails was totally bare, and I lost 3 more that day. I redid them using a matte top coat as the base cause that's all I had. After loosing another it was time to redo my nails and the one's with this base coat I could peel off no problem but those with the matte needed remover. I guess if you're looking for something that only lasts a few days and is easy to remove it'll work for you but do be aware of this issue. It sucked having 9 of 10 nails painted for 4 hours at work.
