Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 - Nintendo Switch

Ah megaman, everyones favorite blue bomer. Megaman is a series of games that started in 1987 and has bloomed ever since with having 10 (Not counting 11) main megaman titles and several dozen spinoffs; It was on hell of a series. Megaman holds a special place in my heart, with megaman battle network being my first game as a gamer ever... With my gameboy advance being my first handheld or system ever as well. Later on I had a PlayStation and PlayStation 2 so of course I played megaman 8, megaman x 4, and of course megaman legends.... Which that was it.... Yep only those three I ever played. That doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the series, oh I'm VERY familar with megaman. This is honestly the best time to become a megaman fan, with megaman 11 coming soon to the switch, xbox one and PS4. Now before I actually start the review, let's address the elephant in the room. Yes only megaman legacy collection one is on a cartridge while megaman legacy collection two is digital only... So I'm going to see a lot of one star reviews either complaing that the digital code doesn't work or simply the fact that they are upset it's digital only. I understand were you guys are coming from, it is really stupid of capcom to not put it in at LEAST a second cartridge. Now with that being said, I beg you megaman fans please just suck it up for now. Do you not realise that if this game sells well, we can see a resurgence of bringing back megaman games like the upcoming megaman 11 game? Hell who knows, they might even do legends 3. Besides how big is the file size for collection 2, pretty much around 3.2 GB? Not that big really guys. Just archive a game that you aren't playing if you have to make space... In any case, lets offical start this review. Story - It's pretty much the same thing over and over again, doctor willy having his robots to cause trouble and with doctor light making megaman he has to stop doctor willys creation and stop him... Sums up the entire franchise. Gameplay - The core gameplay for really any megaman game has always been this formula.... You pick a stage you want to go to, beat the boss and get their power up, use that said power up against another boss that they are weak to said power up, get all the power ups, go to final stage, beat all bosses again, beat final boss..... And then we do it all over again in the next game! Seeing as my only experience with the main megaman series was megaman 8, I can at least tell you how THAT plays. You have these bolts that can be a pain in the but to collect, use them for power ups but you can't have all the upgrades even if you collected it all. This game kicked my BUTT as a kid, some of the reaction times were ridiculous and required basically split second reaction time or else your dead. Screw those skateboarding sections, JUMP JUMP, SLIDE SLIDE, very annoying. So capcom must have been like "well we need to go back to our roots" and they went so old school back to 8 bit megaman for 9 and 10 but those were fantastic games as I heard. The game runs at a steady 1080p and 60 FPS on docked mode, while 720p 30 FPS on handheld mode but you can't really tell the difference these are mostly 8 bit games for crying out loud with the exception of collection 2. Same feature with the legacy collection that was on Xbox One and PS4 is that they have the art gallery from each megaman title and boy there is a LOT of artwork here. They also have retro filters which are very cool to have, mess around with those. Almosy forgot, there is also a challenge mode there too, but megaman games are NOT easy unless you remember the patterns. Lastly they have a soundtrack mode with all the music for all the megaman games.... Which brings me to my next section. Music - The music in megaman is quite infamous, the series is well known for it's music and yes it shows. All the tracks are really amazing, I could listen to it all day really. Not much else to say, megaman music has always been fantastic 🎶 Sound - Pew pew pew, SLIDE SLIDE, JUMP JUMP, "Doctor willey", READY! Boss explosion noises. Verdict - Megaman is honestly a perfect fit for the switch system, playing it on the go is just really fantastic. This is THE TIME to be a megaman fan guys, with megaman 11 coming soon it feels soooooo gooood to be a megaman fan right now. I hope this sells well, as well as for the upcoming Megaman X Collection that I will be doing a review for as well (Zero my favorite character). Let's show capcom our love and support for the series for potential future megaman games, go and buy it please.

I have always wanted to play Mega Man as I never had the chance as a kid. When I saw this legacy collection was releasing for the Nintendo Switch I knew I had to try it. First off the gameplay is great with occasional screen tearing and lag, but it does not make the game unplayable or ruin the experience. I found switching between original and turbo mode help to fix the occasional lag. The controls are comfortable with the pro controller and playing undocked as well. As many people know Mega Man games can be difficult, this is why I love the addition of the rewind feature. Its completely optional but I would highly recommend using for and casual fans of the series. There were many times the rewind feature saved me from becoming frustrated and rage quitting. I wish they would have done two game carts instead of making the second one a code, but it's not a huge deal to me. The cleaning cloth is a cool little bonus and looks great, I recommend this game to anyone who wants to get into the Mega Man series like I did.

Amazing collection of the best games in capcom’s vaults. I’ve always loved mega man games but sometimes have find them a bit too difficult, the addition of the save feature and rewind button on the more difficult games have amplified my love to this collection tenfold and have made the games more fun imo!

It’s really not that serious to only have half on a cartridge. The games are awesome regardless. People are giving it a bad rating because of that fact even though it stated in the description before anyone preordered it that half was downloadable. Either way, awesome games! Let’s go Capcom! Oh! And for all the people who gave it a bad rating for not coming with the collectors cloth. Don’t hate on me cuz I preordered it last minute and just got it today with the cloth! Bam!

Megaman legacy collection for switch is a must buy. However you can get the same as a digital download for a cheaper price. The games are amazing I’ve played the classics on my 3ds and love them. The music the level design, and the bosses that make you want to pull your hair off are super fun to beat. This particular collection is almost perfect in the sense that you need a digital download for the second legacy collection. Honestly that’s a real bummer that the physical release included a download code for the second legacy collection instead of just both collections in the same cartridge. However if you love megaman games just buy whatever form you prefer. The nice thing about buying the physical copy is you actually get a physical cartridge in your hands. I always prefer the physical cartridge than buying just digital. Overall this collection may not be the best, and capcom pretty much missed a great opportunity. We can’t complain. ITS MEGAMAN ON THE NINTENDO SWITCH. ALL OF THE CLASSICS. Aside from the challenge stages and the rewind features which add to an already awesome collection. ITS MEGAMAN ON YOUR SWITCH. That is hands down the best reason to buy these collections either the physical copy or digitally.

ロックマンクラシックコレクションが欲しかったのだけれど、メガマンしかなくて… まぁいいかと買ってみた。海外版で全部英語表記なのかなと覚悟していたのだけど、やってみたらパッケージとソフトだけ英語で、ゲーム内はふつうに日本語でふつうにロックマンだった。よくわからなかったけど、ロックマン楽しめているのでまぁいいかと。ロックマン楽しいです。1がめちゃむずいです。でも楽しいです。ゲーム中の画像を当時のブラウン管テレビのような画像に変えられる機能があるのは、めちゃくちゃ良かったです！！！

They put the old NES games worth kbs onto the cartridge and what’s worse is when you try and claim the legacy 2 game it’s not available in my country - Australia. I’m not going to create a bogus account that gives me access to one game when all other games are on my main account. Just poorly executed
