I’m generally a fan of magpul items and on an AR platform most their stuff is lights out. But as they get into more diverse applications I’m seeing that either their design or mfg process lacks the specificity of more detailed platforms. The AR platform is modular and pretty forgiving from the start. Their lever action pieces are where the need for tighter tolerances start to show and where this material or process comes up a little short. I have another review out on their handguard which isn’t a perfect fit and needs some additional work to make fit right. And this too was less than perfect. That said this does not have any wiggle or slop. It’s solid. The issue with this is the main screw that secures it at the pistol grip doesn’t align right. I can’t speak for every piece that was made but mine required more force than I was comfortable with to get the screw the last little .001 of an inch to thread down right. I had to give the butt a pretty good smack with a dead blow hammer to get it that last little hair for it to thread in properly. But once on I really like the adjustments I now have to cheek and shoulder lengths. Again, this is a good piece. Just don’t assume it’ll go on as easy as their AR stuff. If you’re not fully outfitted for bench work then at least be prepared to get someone who is to put it on for you. Be very careful because that screw will initially give you feedback like it’s threading but it might be very close to cross threading.

Very good product! However, it does not fit ever 1895. If you are looking replace a stock model with non pistol grip stock. Your factory lever will not fit or close all the way to fire. You will either have to modify stock well or buy loop lever.

Your riffle must have a rounded lever. If you have the boxy one like me it will not work. Called magpul they said get a rounded lever. At 150 plus for a new lever I said nope and got my money back. No where have I found where they state this. It's on the box fits all marlin 1895 and it does not what a waste of my time. Thanks for nothing MAGPUL.
