I'm using the cam cleats with strap to hang a six foot "fender board" and three fenders on my 40-foot sailboat. They sit behind the toe rub rail and the 3/8" lines to the fenders are fed through the holes in the rail. The cleats lock and release easily allowing me to remove the fender board at the dock when I depart and easily hang it when I return.

Good
I put two of these on my small sailboat. Since my boat is so small, I can get away with using small rope. If the rope is too small, it can get caught between the plastic jaws and the metal loop, especially if at an angle. They work well, just watch out if you remove the screws holding the jaws on. The spring can be tricky to put back in.

Ok. NOT great.
THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH 550 PARACORD! Any amount of tension, and it slips. It does work with rope 3/16โ in diameter, and works well. Works better with twisted rope. Braided rope is smoother and harder to grab. Planning on using it for rope management on a homemade kayak anchor spike. Not sure how durable it is, as I havenโt installed it yet.

Perfect for your kayak anchor!
This was just what I was looking for! It's perfect for managing my kayak anchor. A much more practical and money saving alternative to what even the most basic rigging costs. it's a cockpit kayak used in bays and sounds in the northeast. Used JB Weld marine adhesive to attach to the stern.

Sailing Cam Cleat
Purchased this cam cleat to use on my Hobie inflatable kayak equipped with a sail. This was an update on the factory method of retaining the sheet. This cleat is attached with black cord to existing hardware that is glued to the tubes. It is made of good quality material and perfect for my application.

Racelite Cam Cleat
Installed on boat last year and it has held up. Does the trick for securing the furling jib line on my sailboat.
