MUSASHI High Protein Bar, 45g Protein, Dark Chocolate & Salted Caramel

This comment is on the Musashi Dark Chocolate and salted caramel. I have not tried the other items in their line up. It is not what you may expect. First, the flavor is interesting, chocolate, yes, but the rest of what is going on is not caramel to my taste, it is more like very, very mild cherry. So not at all unpleasant. The texture is unusual. It is like nougat, but very dense. Very chewy. It is not like a "candy bar" that is chewy, because it is more dense, and therefore a bit dry. Not so good to take along on a walk unless you have a beverage--coffee would be my first choice because this bar seems almost made to have with coffee, but water is also fine. I haven't tried it with tea yet but think tea would also be a great match. Soda pop, not a good match to my taste. Individual results may very, as they say. Portion--this is not like a candy bar. One of these bars is very filling, in fact, half a bar is just right for me. If this were a candy bar you could pop it down in a minute, wash with a beverage, and away you go. Not so with this. Before I am even done with one bar I am feeling full. It takes a lot of chewing and swallowing to get a bar down. I wonder if it actually pulls moisture out of my system and expands in my stomach because I feel full fast, but about a half a bar is all I want. I am starting to cut one bar into four portions to pop in just one at a time through the day. That seems to work to keep me feeling full and alert. 12 bars for 30 bux is around 3 bux a throw for easy math. 3 each sounds like a lot, but if I think of it as replacing a meal and a snack, then not so much. The flavor is nice, but leaves me wanting more variety if overused, so I will probably look at another of the Musashi bars or a competing brand to mix up the flavor a bit.

Each person has their own palate preferences. For me, this protein bar is great. It is chewy but moist and I like that. The flavor is subtle chocolate caramel. Did not upset my GI system despite the claimed 45g of protein. Is now my top go-to protein bar.

I believe that it taste really good when it comes to protein bars and the amount of protein that it brings for the the right price is even better.

Ok, this is not the best tasting protein bar. This is not the best texture either, but with 45 grams of protein who gives a damn. Especially for the price!!! Plus it’ll fix my sweet tooth cravings. My gut doesnt accommodate the sugar alcohols well, but a couple Gas X pills fix the farts! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

Each of these bars is over 3 ounces!! I couldn’t finish one of them. ! And they are very VERY dense-i had a hard time chewing through one of them because the filling is so dense. And they have a cloying sweetness to them-even after an hour i could still tasteit. But each bar does supply a lot of protein, so three stars. I will not buy these again.

Great Protein Content and Taste. I compare cost and protein content and this product wins! IMO it tastes good. They fill me up and I stay full for a long time. I highly recommend this product. btw I receive no compensation from the vendor.

I found this to be a very good deal due to the high protein content. I actually ate a half of a bar at a time because these bars are quite filling. Definitely a dense protein bar. They don't taste quite as good as they look, but I have an acquired taste for protein bars in general. Slightly bitter, moderately sweet, and a little bit bland in terms of flavor. But I'm still giving it 5 stars because of the 45 grams of protein - plus, the dark chocolate coating is good. I'm 105 lbs., so eating half is plenty for me. It might not be for others. This bar is also very chewy.

As expensive as these are, you would think they would taste like something other than cardboard. They are thick and dry and hard and you'd probably have an easier time trying to chew through the sole of a gym shoe. My first bite took me about 5 minutes to chew up. I can taste the dark chocolate but the salted caramel? Nonexistent.

Box mentioned 12 protein bars, however it was opened and re-packed with tape. Inside the packaging was only 11 bars.
