These 5 GHz smart plugs are truly “smart”. After upgrading to a fiber optic system, my 2.4 GHz Amazon smart plugs would not sync/connect. Even though the new ISP said that the new system has switchable megahertz bands that should cover most smart devices, my old smart plugs failed to connect. The Eightree smart plugs found my network and connected via the SmartLife app in less than 30 seconds. Migrating the new smart plug system to my Alexa app took less than 15 seconds. Everything worked seamlessly. The only thing that took time was deleting my Amazon smart plugs and creating new routines. This is perfectly normal and took the standard amount of time per plug. Just realized today I had a lamp that was connected to an Amazon smart plug and was on 24/7. I ordered another 5 MHz plug for the lamp. I am anticipating no issues with setup and migration to my Alexa app. Five stars for this amazingly effective and simple to set up smart plug.

I bought these Eightree 5GHz smart plugs to replace my old 2.5 GHz versions that were not working well with my updated Wi-Fi network. They were easy to setup using the SmartLife app and were easily added to our Alexa lights routine. I've been using them for more than two weeks and they have worked flawlessly.

We got a new modem and router when we changed our Internet service, and couldn't get our old smart plugs to connect even though we switched to 2.4ghz to perform the task. Decided to get these, the smart life app recognized them immediately and were connected in a matter of seconds. I've been using them for a few weeks now without any issues. Glad I found some that work with 5ghz, wasn't looking forward to having to manually turning on my Christmas lights! I have two plugs in our attached garage, and I can also control them from the app. I was concerned that distance/walls etc. would be an issue, so far so good. I will update if any issues arise. Update: one of the plugs just quit working, power light doesn't even come on, tried all the troubleshooting tips but it's dead. After such a short time?? If any of the others die, I will update. Too expensive not to have longevity.

I had some 2.4 ghz smart plugs I bought from another company years ago but they started dying out on me so I was looking for replacement smart plugs that had all the latest features. I saw these Eightree plugs on Amazon and they looked like they had all of the features I wanted. My plan was to use these plugs to monitor the energy consumption of the various space heaters that I had around the house to see if electric space heaters costs more than just using natural gas to heat the rooms. I also upgraded the router at my house to multiband 2.4/5 ghz and my prior devices that ran on 2.4 ghz were having problems connecting to my network. The plugs were easy to install and connect to. All I had to do was open up the Smart Life app on my iPad, insert the plug in the wall outlet, and then select “Add Device” on the app. The app then detected the new device, I input the WiFi password for my network, and it was connected. In the past, my space heaters would occassionally burn out my prior 2.4 ghz smart plugs. Anything that generates a decent amount of heat (i.e. hair dryers, space heaters, clothing iron, etc.) will draw a lot of amps and can burn out a smart outlet unless the plug has a decent amperage rating. I haven’t seen any smarts plug out there that have a re-settable fuse on it. So if the plug gets overloaded, it’ll burn out and can’t be used anymore. These Eightree plugs have a 15 amp rating, so it can likely handle as much power as your wall outlet is able to put out. I’ve had my space heaters running on these smart plugs for 3 hours now and the plugs have been able to handle the power draw without getting warm or overheating. I was especially pleased with the depth of the energy monitoring features of these plugs. You can pull up graphs showing the energy consumption per hour, per day, week, etc. It also shows the total dollar cost of the energy that’s being used and well as the ongoing voltage and the number of watts that’s being drawn from the outlet. So it can also serve double duty as a voltage and wattage meter. These aren’t the absolute cheapest smart plugs on Amazon. But they are the lowest priced ones that have all of the features that are included in them: 5 ghz Wifi, 15 amp capacity, energy monitoring stats, etc. I’ll be ordering a lot more of these plugs so that I can monitor the electric usage of all the devices at my house.

Ordered for Christmas for my tree timer. It works great! The app for control is extremely easy to use, and you can program for off and end times each day from your phone. The 4 pack enabled me to utilize throughout the house. The ability to control turning on the lights while away from home is a great benefit. I highly recommend

Try as I might, these things are not worth the effort. The are offline more than online, and recently they dropped completely from my network. Tried to rest, and before the convoluted software would allow me to proceed, it wanted to EMAIL me, not TEXT me, a code. Well, you have 60 seconds only to input the code. It take 2 to 3 minutes for their email to come in with the code. By then the option to enter my accont expires. Who uses EMAIL for secondary authorization anyway? I have not joice but to toss these things in the dumper and look for another provider/

What a great product. It was very easy to setup. It turned out that I already had the App on my phone from the older wireless sockets I was replacing. Once they were plugged in and put into pairing mode the App found and installed them on its own using the Bluetooth connection. My Alexa App found the new plugs more or less on its own from the Smart Life App. Did two in 10 minutes and most of that time was moving around the house to two locations.

Great produce, easy to set up but ... one of mine died after a power outage. All the rest were find only one died :( I will recommend though as they are really good ones easily match to Alexa.

Bought a 4 pack and after 1 year now only 2 work. Edit: The 2 non working plug are now working again. The problem was a glitch with Google Home app. I don’t understand how or why but after a day of not working after uninstalling are reinstalling they are now working again. 🤷. Changed rating from 3 to 5 stars.

3 of the 4 are still working fine. One of them just won't power on anymore.

So far, out of the four plugs, I have only tried 2 of them. One plug out of the two malfunctioned after a days use. I tried resetting it to no avail. I had to throw that plug out.
