Excellent Headset Great Sound
For me it works perfectly. I am regular user of MMX 300 2nd gen. So I decided to buy lastest model and I am not disapointed. Mine is paired with AE-9 Soundcard. Basicaly MMX 300 Pro feel same build quality and slightly better sound thanks to new drivers. Sound suprised me positively. Headset is comfortable. I have no idea why other not happy as this is one of the best Gaming Headset you can buy. There is one thing that I dont like however that is not going to make me give 4 star. It is missing hard case and other accesories this time not part of package. But perhaps it is understandable with current trends. Is it worth it $299? Probably not... more like $250. I can easily recommend this headset to anybody who want one of the best Gaming headset currently on the market.

Quality gaming audio at a premium
Headsets don't get pricier than the 200-300 bracket and there isn't much compeition in this range other than the Audezee Maxwells. However, having bad experiences with wireless headsets in the past, and especially noting issues with competitors, I decided to go with this wired headset from a classic brand. I chose Beyerdynamic because of the build quality. Unlike cheaper plastic headsets, this will not break with any accidental fall or taking it off your head roughly. Each part is available to be bought to replace if this ever happens. I also paid more for this headset as I wanted a quality microphone. This is the best I have used compared to V-Moda, Razer, and Logitech. It does not pick up my keyboard or other voices at all being a Cardoid 1 direction Mic, and it captures the fullness of my voice rather than the tinny noise cancellation effect of other Microphones. Audio quality wise it is comparable to lower cost Beyerdynamic headphones, you pay more the convenience of an installed Microphone. You can hear the space between sounds and the bass is amazing. Voices are clear and flavourful, even on Discord. The other reviewers with audio issues did not plug and twist the cable in properly (it is a unique mechanism so the cable doesn't get pulled out). The Microphone has not begun to sag at all and the mechanism remains sturdy. I look forward to enjoying this headphones for another 10 years.

Returning - Mic Issues with PC
Haven't worked correctly with PC. Audio comes through however mic not picked up at all. No matter if ran through a DAC, or directly into motherboard etc. No software available either, firm do not buy unless using perhaps with a console. Returning.

Best Wired Closed Back Gaming Headset in 2026 So Far!
At £259 these sound great out of the box, and the fact even a gameplay can drive them without issue is great. With a little EQ they sound even better, then add in the Schiit Gunnr and they're on par with much more expensive cans, comparable with my much more expensive Focal Elegia headphones. The boom arm microphone is probably the best headset mic I've ever used. The cable is a decent length, splits into a separate headphone and mic connection but comes with an adapter for single plug audio. And, includes a nice chunky inline volume wheel with mic mute. Where this doesn't feel premium is in comfort. Granted I've got a large head but the stock headband creates pressure points at the top of my head fairly quickly. The stock velour pads also are pretty thin and compress way too much, getting uncomfortable with my ears pressed against the inside of the cups. If you're prepared to spend a little more on some aftermarket pads like wicked cushions and a comfort headband such as the Capra Audio Beyer DT Comfort Strap, these become truly special. The strap allows for longer play sessions, and the aftermarket pads provide better noise isolation and sound definition as well as comfort. They lack some functionality compared to competitors, I'd prefer the mic to mute when in the up position. A detachable mic would be nice aswell. But if those minor points don't matter to you, get these.

Broke very soon after purchase
Headset had good quality audio but the mic arm is very fragile and after only a few weeks of use started to spin around and now makes loud crackling noises, bought these in June and now they are barely usable on discord as others complain about the noise

beyerdynamic MMX 300 PRO need to be set on high gain being 48ohm!
Shockingly good sound with a Soundblaster G8 for Fortnite, that Stella 45 driver kicks some serious @$$, i own Beyer DT770 DT880 DT990 TYGR300R and both the highly rated Simgot EM6L and Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite iem's and this gaming headset beats them all for Fortnite, 5 to 10 years ago you would be paying at least £500 for this type of sound quality for gaming, if you're on the fence and are waiting for the 330 to be in stock just buy these ones, you wouldn't even think these were closed back anyway! P.S "DON'T FORGET TO PUT YOUR HEADPHONE AMP ON THE HIGH GAIN SETTING FOR THESE TO SHINE"!

Broke within 4 months
No shot, I've used 30+ headsets over the past 12 years and this was by far the worst, quality of the earcups great, comfort tolerable, soun quality ehhhh but the worst part of it all after 4 months the sides have started to break down and fall apart this is not something you would expect of a headset that costs 200+ my honest opinion get a hyperX imma swap back after this and also I'll leave pictures so you can know it's not some bot

I recently purchased the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro headphones for $300, expecting a premium experience given the hefty price tag. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. First and foremost, comfort is key when it comes to headphones, and I had high hopes that these would deliver. Sadly, they felt anything but comfortable. The ear cushions are stiff and don’t conform to the shape of my ears at all. After just a short period of use, I found myself constantly adjusting them and taking breaks, which defeats the purpose of having a high-end headset for long gaming or listening sessions. Additionally, the headband feels rigid and offers very little cushioning, leading to discomfort on the top of my head. I had expected a luxurious feel and fit, but instead, it feels like I’m wearing a cheap pair of headphones. For $300, I was anticipating a level of quality and comfort that this product simply does not deliver. I wish I could say the sound quality made up for it, but if I can’t wear them comfortably, it hardly matters. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you value comfort as much as sound quality. Overall, I regret this purchase and would not recommend the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable audio experience. Save your money!

After years of bouncing between mid-range and cheap gaming headsets, I finally decided to invest in a truly premium pair, and the beyerdynamic MMX 300 PRO has exceeded every expectation. Yes, they’re expensive—and I hesitated for a while—but after using them, I can confidently say they’re worth every single penny. The audio quality is exceptional. Powered by the Stellar.45 drivers, the sound is detailed, balanced, and immersive—perfect for competitive gaming where directional audio matters. Footsteps, distant gunfire, ambient noises—they all come through crystal clear. Music and movies sound amazing too, so it doubles as a fantastic pair of over-ear headphones even outside of gaming. The microphone is studio-grade—clear, responsive, and without any of the tinny distortion I’ve experienced with cheaper headsets. Whether I’m in team chat or recording content, my voice sounds clean and professional with no effort on my part. Comfort-wise, this headset delivers. I’ve worn it for 6+ hour gaming sessions without ear fatigue or pressure headaches. The build feels premium—handmade in Germany with attention to every detail. Even the materials used (the padding, the ear cups, the metal frame) feel solid and built to last. Setup was simple, and compatibility is broad: works seamlessly with PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. I also appreciated the ultra-fast delivery—I received mine within 12 hours of ordering, which was a huge plus. If you’re on the fence about making the leap to a high-end headset, don’t wait. The MMX 300 PRO has been a game changer for me. It’s the perfect blend of audiophile sound, professional mic quality, premium comfort, and durable design. Highly recommend it for anyone ready to level up their setup.
