Waterproof and comfortable
Got these in warehouse deal for around ยฃ60 a year ago and now clicked up over 1000km. They were comfortable from the first wear and have remained waterproof. Wear on soles and slight cracking on synthetic upper section but no issues for waterproof or grip. At 8.5 UK size these are true to size for me with the added benefit of generous toebox. Much better fit than Salomon for e.g. which I find way too narrow. I have bought a second pair for when these retire but will see how far they will last. UPDATE. The 2023: Retired this pair at around 1200km and moved on to a second pair. These are now over 600km mainly winter use and doing great. Looking for a third pair now despite having merrell moab on standby. UPDATE 2025: Bought another pair in 2023 and started wearing them late 2024. They replaced a pair of Scarpa Terra GTX which I racked up 1939km by which time the soles became too slippy. Swapped these for my third pair of Targhees which as of 1 October 2025 have 1528km in. They are holding up really well, rand is still intact and soles showing wear but safe. I'll keep wearing into winter when I have another pair bought in warehouse deal ready to replace. Despite allof the negative reviews I have had a number of pairs of these which have been good or in current case exceptional particularly taking into account purchases around ยฃ65 mark. UPDATE 2026: Just retired the last pair which made it to 1740km comfortable walking. I retired these late in 2025. My next pair which were ยฃ72 and 8.5 UK wide (a bit more roomy but still great fit) and bought Nov 2025 have just been retired after racking up 1333km. I have just (Aug 2026) started my next pair of 8.5 Uk targhees (costing ยฃ65) and will update on these when they are worn out.

No longer a Classic boot... Cheap tat
These were my go to boot for wide fit & comfort. I've had 2 pairs previously & bought a pair for a friend who was suffering with poor fitting boots. Over the years, the quality has gone down & the price has gone up. You're lucky to get a year out of them. My first pair lasted nearly 3 years (and I wasn't impressed with that). And you're lucky if they stay dry for a week in any season except summer. The side band above the sole disintegrates, water gets in and that's the end of the boots. Such a shame as they are comfortable. Greed screws it up again...

Very comfortable for wide feet
Targhees are the only boot for me because I have wide flat feet and these come in a wide fitting. They're comfortable out of the box and need no breaking in (I take the insoles out and use custom orthotics because of my flat feet and knee problems). They're lightweight as well which is nice but still have good hiking boot soles to cope with rough stony paths and the ankle support is good without being oppressive so you can drive a car in them without discomfort. The lacing system works very well, nowadays I simply use the lacing pattern that they come with but, in the past I've changed it with success. They only have two speedgrips but you don't need more - once they're laced on they stay laced and there is no aggravation with the laces coming undone as the speedgrips take the tension off the knot. They're grippy on wet grass and mud (I live in Nofolk so it's all zoil and grass) and even better on stony stuff when I go on holiday. My last two pairs have been very good for waterproofing, before that the waterproofing gave up before the boot did and the Targhee 3 seems generally more durable than the previous Targhee 2, in particular the rand now protects the boot from splitting. The only thing is that I need a new pair after 9 months as they simply wear out - the soles wear down so that slipping on wet grass starts to become an issue and the uppers start to fail around the rand. However the Thing is that I wear these every day for three dog walks seven days a week right through the year (yes they get a bit sweaty in high Summer but they breathe pretty well). As I clock around 4 miles per day that's around 1,100 miles so I don't mind having to replace them. If you just used them at the weekend and on holiday they'd last you years.

So far so good
To preface, I arrived in the UK a couple weeks before a trip to Iceland, and I found out the hiking boots I brought were not fitted as good as I thought they were. So, I needed a new pair of boots that were waterproof, warm, and most importantly, comfortable because I'd have no time to break them in. Due to the immense praise I read about the Keen's comfort and since I have wider feet, I decided to take my chance on them. After owning them for about a month now, they are extremely comfortable. There was a day where they were slightly uncomfortable, but, after figuring out the best way to knot them for my foot, they were great again. I also tested them in a few rivers and waterfalls, and they kept my feet dry; however, it was not any intense wetting on them. I am aware of the persistent issue of the soles coming apart, so I will update this review if I get to that point. Keen does have a 1-year warranty on the boots though, so if that issue does come up during the 1-year period, they can be replaced for free. My experience with these boots so far has been great, and I really enjoy these boots. Update: Unfortunately, after only two months of use, the sole on the left boot started to delaminate. While I did do some pretty tough hikes, it was nothing that should cause the sole to come apart so early on. However, I did a warranty claim with Keen through Amazon, and I was refunded for the boots very easily, which is why I'm only taking off one star. If you are like me and still want comfortable boots with wide toe boxes, I would try going for the Targhee IVs, which have a lifetime warranty on the soles delaminating.

Great design, fit amazingly but poorly constructed and will fall apart quickly
These are probably the comfiest, best fitting boots Iโve ever purchased straight out the box. Unfortunately, Iโd expect the to be a lot better made; after a a few months of infrequent use, the sole has started to come away from the bottom meaning water can now seep in from the bottom. Iโm really disappointed with the quality of adhesive used given how much these cost and I can see Iโm not the only one who has experienced this issue as well. I feel a bit ripped off, honestly, and itโs a shame because if they were constructed better and justified the price I would happily buy these again and again.

Exellent shoe with wide toe box.
Great hiking shoe. The mid level gives the perfect amount of ankle support whilst still staying cool and allowing some flexability and movement of the ankle. The very wide toe box fits my feet perfectly as most other "normal" hiking boots always give me blisters but not these! Theyre comfortable for long hikes. They are quite lightweight and reasonably breathable. The grip is exellent and stands up well against the slippiest of surfaces! Theyre good value for money and im so glad i picked these boots. Very versatile

Comfortable roomy fit.
FURTHER UPDATE: The rand on both boots has now cracked, both boots are no longer waterproof and the sole on one boot is now coming away from the upper of the boot. Worst pair of boots I have ever owned. UPDATE: Had the boots just over a year now and they are no longer waterproof. The rand on one boot has split and they are showing signs of the rand coming away from the sole. These Keens are not my main pair of walking boots and I am therefore disappointed that they have worn so badly and are no longer waterproof over such a short period of time. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Nice reasonably lightweight mid height boot. Appears to be well made with a good rubber protective rand. Comfortable straight from the box with what feels like a widish fit. Have worn a number of time for mainly dry walks so cannot comment on waterproof quality of the boots.

Should be labeled water resistant not waterproof
I've always loved keen they are really comfortable probably the most comfortable walking boot overhead but they do say they are waterproof they are not I know it's very difficult to 100% waterproof something so it should really say water resistant I'm wore them in a wet grass area of my allotment for about two hours and I could feel the damp coming through I have now ordered some damp or water repellent to spray on the which I hope will cure the problem apart from that they're fantastic they're very good but they're not waterproof 100%

Perfect for hiking
These boots are great. They have a solid build and good grip, which is exactly what I needed for my hikes. They feel supportive and comfortable to wear. Shipping was also fast. Great value for the price.
