What is the difference between the "pearl" version and the regular version with the blue barrel?

Hello consumer! Both Energel RTX and Pearl pens are the same, in mold shape, mechanical function and ink type. The only difference is in the color of the barrels and comfort grips. Is the ink acid-free, archival safe?

Safety and archival are slightly different things. It is likely not archival ink as it is intended for everyday use and archival ink is actually a stain that will clog a tip relatively rapidly so it is not recommended for everyday use. Up to the 1980's archival ink was still used straight from the bottle and with a quill. Today, you can obtain archival ink from craft stores in a pen form but the tip may still require cleaning periodically to ensure even flow of the stain.

Do these bleed through paper?

No, these are high quality pens. I use them for underlining in my bible everyday & the pages are pretty thin. They don't bleed through.
