The Heatwave Test: We have been dealing with crazy hot temperatures lately, and my outdoor plants and potted flowers were drying out completely by mid-afternoon. I was having to water them constantly just to keep them alive. How I Applied It: I mixed these granules into the soil around the root zones of my outdoor plants. As soon as you water them, you can tell they immediately turn into a thick, water-retaining jelly matrix beneath the surface. The Results: It works beautifully! The soil stays consistently moist even during the hottest part of the day. Instead of wilting under the sun, my plants look vibrant, resilient, and perfectly hydrated. It has significantly cut down on how often I have to run outside to water everything. Pros:Drastically reduces watering frequency during extreme heat. Prevents severe soil drying and plant wilting. A little bit of the dry crystals goes a very long way. Cons / Tips for Success: Make sure you mix it well into the soil rather than just leaving it on top. If it's too close to the surface, the gel expands above the dirt and looks a little messy. Keep it down by the roots where the water is actually needed!

Does as it is suppose to

This stuff is great mixed in with soil when I plant in the ground or in pots. Just don’t add too much or you’ll be scooping slime out! I just mix it in elsewhere when that happens. Also, beware as the lid does not fit all that securely and I accidentally tipped the tub over with my foot in the grass. I scooped up all the dry crystals I could, about 1/3 of the tub! After the next rain, I had a massive clean up of clear jel, which was soon dirty as I scraped it out of the grass and ground and put it in about 3 small buckets. I’ll be scooping out of those for a while! Great moisture retention!!

Performed as expected

We are in drought conditions with watering restrictions it makes it hard to keep things going, this container had enough in it to work for muliple households worth of container plants. I used what I needed and then gave the rest to neighbors that wanted some. (Note this is used in areas that there is no way it gets into the sewers or storm drains.) it makes it possible to water plants on the water conservation schedule.

I use these crystals in all my potted plants. This prevents your plants from drying out so quickly thus reduces the frequency of watering. This product really works!

I used this for spreading deer attractant. It soaks up the liquid and holds it for many days out in the field. Better value than using it alone. Consider this a hunting hack!
