Cry those tears of joy, because Beach House will release 7, the group's 7th full-length record, on May 11th, 2018. 7 features standouts including the single "Lemon Glow", along with "Black Car," "Drunk In LA," "Dark Spring," and today, their latest offering, the transcendent "Dive". All of the songs on 7 began in Beach House's home studio in Baltimore, and were finished at Carriage House in Stamford, CT and Palmetto Studio in Los Angeles. The album was mixed by Alan Moulder. Unlike the last four albums, 7 didn't have a producer in the traditional sense. Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom (Peter Kember) became a significant force on this record by shedding conventions and helping to keep the songs alive, fresh, and protected from the destructive elements of recording studio overproduction and over-perfection. The band's trusted live drummer from 2016 to the present, James Barone, played on the entire record, helping to keep rhythm at the center of a lot of these songs. Review: Lemon colored honey glow - Is "7" the best Beach House album? The old-school fan in me wants to point to "Teen Dream" or even "Bloom", but you can make a case for the unimaginatively-titled "7", which thoroughly reinvented a band that was starting to feel too much of the same each album. It's noisy, the drums are more present than other Beach House albums, and it occasionally dips into the weird and experimental. Review: Amazing presentation of an amazing album! - In terms of the physical product, it arrived in perfect condition and sounds phenomenal on vinyl. The cover art is incredible and has reflective material that looks fantastic on display. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had a gatefold even though it’s a single LP, who doesn’t love gatefolds? As for the music, this is already one of my favorite Beach House albums. Sounds different from a lot of their previous work, but somehow also very familiar. Top it off with the low price and fast delivery and you have a must-own record!

Beach House's finest release
From start to finish, this album, Beach House's seventh (appropriately named), is outstanding. If you are reading this, you are likely familiar with Beach House. Two very creative musicians who create layered, melodic "dream pop." The songs on this album sound so familiar, like old friends. If you appreciate and enjoy this genre of music, this is a must listen. Timeless.

another gem from one of the best bands around!
this is (so far) the darkest, most psychedelically experimental BH albums, and i have been in love with it since it released. i don’t think any longtime BH fan will be disappointed. they’ve abandoned drum machines for a real drummer now i believe, and it makes a difference. songs like “Dive” builds up to a heaviness i never expected, nor did i want it to end, is one of the prime examples of this band exploring new paths. the guitar free “Black Car” is a haunting song you’ll be hard pressed to get out of your head. “Woo” and “Lemon Glow” share the synth drenched psychedelia that suits BH very well. the album opener “Dark Spring” i feel is the most ‘typical’ sounding shoegaze-y, dream pop, BH song off the whole album. without delving into each specific song, i’ll just say there isn’t a dud in the bunch. also we get to hear Victoria sing in (her native tongue) French for the first time. i love how comfortable Beach House sounds on this album. while this is their 7th album (hence the title), it feels both familiar and new. they’re venturing into new places, sounds; both beautiful and strange, taking us listeners to a new level. i highly recommend this album, (especially listening with headphones) for diehard and casual fans. each journey Alex and Victoria take us listeners on is special, and i hope they never stop.

Incredible 5 star album
Just a great album front to back. Their music just seems to fit my mood perfectly. Bloom is still my favorite but this one is probably a close second. Favorites include Drunk in LA, Lose Your Smile, Dive, and Lemon Glow.

Decent stuff
Not their best album but still a force and an important addition to their canon.

If 7 was 5
Clean and warm sounding vinyl. And Beach House sound like... Beach House. Somehow they keep refining their music, think of this coming directly after Bloom and it makes perfect sense in musical progression, without compromising their roots/scene/fans/sound. I don't know how you take a two album detour (which were actually great records) and come right back with another solid career highlight. This is the album we were expecting a few years ago If you remember. If they'd released this album instead of the last two, they would be huge mainstream darlings, instead they're ours to enjoy. You can Thank Your Lucky Stars for that one.

Beach House Seven
OmG Beach House just keeps getting better. I played Bloom so much it skipped and Seven is another that every time we hear it I detect more nuances Beach House is just SO great

メランコリックで気怠い感じ。 Mercury Revのような抑揚はなく、儚く平坦に繰り返される美
