Pretty darn close to pure lead.
They were wrapped up well in layers of plastic wrap and tape, surrounded by paper wrap and then inside a durable box. Aside from the shipping getting delayed I'd say these are as advertised. One weighed 2 pounds 5-1/4 oz and the other weighed 2 pounds 5-3/4 oz. I did a scratch test with a 12 BHN bullet (red lube) an 8-10 BHN bullet (white lube) and pure lead 5 BHN round ball. The 12 BHN and 8-10 BHN bullet easily gouged the ingot. The pure lead 5 BHN round ball was almost a tie with the ingot winning out slightly, and some lead transfer from the round ball depositing, but it is very close. I haven't cast with it yet but I'm sure it will work well for what ever projectile I intend to make or mix alloy for. They dent easily when dropped so if that matters don't drop them.

PERFECT FOR MY TASK
I ordered 10 of the 5 pounders and used Gorilla glue to attach them to the top of our community dumpster to keep out the raccoons. My idea worked perfectly; the raccoon buffet is now permanently closed for business!!

This is indeed lead, atomic number 82, falling right between Thallium and Bismuth on the Periodic table; with a melting point of 327 °C and a density of 11 g/cm3, this substance is particularly suited for casting fishing weights, musket balls, and other projectiles.Showed up VERY well packaged: shrink wrap about a quarter inch thick around double layers of cardboard. I feel a bit bad for the mail handlers who go to pick up a fairly small box only to find it weighs twenty pounds.
