220V to 110V Travel Voltage Converter

I bought this preparing for my first international trip. I wanted to be able to make sure my devices were charged in a place that has different plugins. It came in handy at every place I stayed. The charging speed was appropriate because it would stay plugged into the outlet. I loved that it had a carry bag to keep all the pieces together and the durability of it sufficient.

This step-down converter has 3 USB-A outlets, 1 USB-C outlet, 2 AC CONVERTER outlets, and 1 AC ADAPTER outlet. It's important to note that the one AC outlet does NOT convert from 220-240 down to 100-140. Therefore, you must be aware of the difference, and be careful to use the proper outlet. The adapter outlet may be used for any of the many electronics and appliances that are now dual voltage. I just think it could be confusing, at least until you got used to it. One other caveat is that regarding the converter it says, "only use this product for short periods of time (approximately 10 minutes)." Since I tend to want to plug in electronics to recharge, and often will do that for extended periods, I'll have to be careful to use the USB ports or the adapter outlet. Also, the converter outlets should not be used for "electronically switch heating appliances that have electronic timing, temperature control circuits or auto shut off function." So my curling iron is out, but that can be used in the adapter outlet, or with an adapter in the wall. Bottom line: be careful what you plug in where. One surprising thing is that the converter sockets may be used for hair dryers, up to 2,000 watts, if it has a mechanical switch. That's unusual for converters in my experience. The cord does not detach from the base, and I have to wonder if that is because it is heavier duty than most, and this way the user cannot replace it with a less robust power cord. It does come with a bag for packing, as well as adapter plugs for countries throughout the world. So it has some good points and will likely be quite sufficient for most travelers. But given the possible confusion in outlets, and the limitations on time of usage (but only for the converter outlets), I couldn't give it a full 5 stars. I haven't actually had a chance to use it outside the USA yet, but I'm going to assume it actually works, and if I have any issues I'll update my review.

This review is for the Kruuue 220-240v to 110-120v Step Down Voltage Transformer. It comes with the strip outlet transformer, a cloth bag, and 4 adapters for 5 plug types (A, E/F, G, I, L) that can be used in 156 countries. There are two 2000 Watt plugs and one 200 Watt plug on the top. The description states that the 2KW plugs are suitable for hair dryers, straightener curling irons, coffee machines, and electric kettles. The plugs are nicely spaced out so you can use a bigger sized plug. On the front side of the unit, there are 3 USB A and 1 USB C ports however, most USB (1.2, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1) charging blocks automatically change the voltage to 5V. The power converter strip also has built in surge protection, overheat protection, overload protection and short-circuit protection. The main unit weights 13.4 oz. and each adapter weights between 0.8-1.0 ozs. I am looking forward to trying this out when I travel out of the country. The last time my family and I went to Asia, we fried the electronics on my wife's straight iron and my electric toothbrush charger.

This is a really nice and useful converter. The fact that it has a designated port for items like a hair dryer make it much easier to use for international travels! It has everything that will be needed during this two-week holiday of UK, Europe, Italy and other stops we plan on making. It includes a nice little bag for packing the parts in and that makes it easy for travel too. We are excited to have the right converter! This is the fourth converter I have ordered (large family) and is by far the best. This power strip is great with clearly identified 2K and 200w outlets so you know what to plug in where. It also has adapters for different countries and different USB ports.

What I love about this converter is how many different outlets it has, making it really versatile. For safety reasons, I wouldn't use them all at once, but I do love the many options you have. As it has so many outlets, it's a bit bulkier than other options, but is still small enough it's easy to transport when travelling. It has a lot of power, and I've had no issues using it with my devices, which is great and reliable for international travel.
