Same goes for camping or outdoor meals . Microwave, yes. Dishwasher, yes. Lightweight and unbreakable, yes. Two drawbacks: If you eat something that you need to cut with sharp knives, then your dishes will get cut marks on them. They just will not look perfect. The second drawback is that, if you heat something like spaghetti sauce in them in the microwave, they will stain. Two issues to be mindful of, yes......but many upsides worth those drawbacks.

I ordered this set of 4 wheat straw dinnerware settings (cups, bowls, dinnerplates and salad or dessert plates) for patio use. I have stoneware dishes for everyday use, but don't want to use them outdoors, when we have dinner on the patio, as I worry about dropping them on the concrete tiles, and breaking my favorite stoneware dishes. I have a serious aversion to paper plates, so I ordered these as a better option if it's just us.I wasn't sure what to expect with the wheat straw, but these are quite pretty, and look like a matte texture, a soft muted color, and a nice weight. They clean up nicely, no stains so far, they are dishwasher safe, and so far no breaks or cracks, nothing broken.Because I'm short on space in my kitchen, I store them in the box they came in, in a cabinet on the patio. where I keep all of my grilling and smoker supplies.I'm quite happy with these and would recommend as a five-star find.

These have been used indoors, regularly by all members of the family, and hand washed (not by choice).They're great. They haven't warped, melted or retained grease as I've seen in some plastics. They have an interesting feeling to them that I quite enjoy. They've held well against silverware and foods of all types.This is a 5* product in my opinion. Far better than the ceramic set I tested...Absolutely Recommend

The set is like the photos. One of the plates arrived with a large chip broken off the edge.

Love the look and feel of this cute yet modern set! I appreciate the two sizes of plates. These are the go-to choice for our kids and our nightly meals together! Easy to clean and store. I love the "speckled" look of the wheat straw. Will add more to our collection!

I have three young boys and do not yet fully trust them with the ceramics - they are klutzy little humans - so thought this would be a nice way for them to have a full set for themselves with less risk of breaking.These are nice! Material is thick and feels durable but also light weight. They have survived falls to the floor, being chucked into the sink - everything short of being used as frisbees, to be honest. The colors are a nice pastel. Being BPA free is a huge yes for me. Bowls are a decent size too, great for morning cereal.I have used the plates in the microwave and they were not damaged. All have been through the dishwasher without damage. They do stain easily and permanently with red sauce. I tried vinegar, using a soft bristle tooth brush, then a scoring pad (I was worried the scoring pad would scuff the surface but that didn't happen). The red sauce color did not come out. Not a big deal since I'm using for the kiddos, but if that's something you won't be able to get down with, this is not the set for you.Very good price for the quality. This set is great for kids but would also be perfect for camping, RV's, picnics, the office if you wanted to keep some at work.
