AN ABSOLUTELY AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT THAT PERFORMS FLAWLESSLY, AND IS BUILT QUITE QUITE STURDY
This is the newest generation of the ThermoPro TempSpike Plus temperature probes and I found the features ability and software to be excellent. My particular application is barbeque, although I will tell you that probes themselves readily transferred to use in the kitchen such as when we boil chicken for our dog's foodI think what is most important if you're considering purchasing something like this is that :A) The signal will actually go through the lid or the wall of your grill andB) That the signal will actually carry for a good distance without issuesI found both of these criteria to be well satisfied by these probes!!Additionally, the software feature that comes with these probes and the design of the homebase as a relay station were just excellent!! Everything works like it should, intuitive easy to understand and easy to useLastly, I'd like to add a comment about a personal experience that I'm embarrassed to talk about, but in terms of a customer or another person considering purchasing one of these, I think you'll be very interested to hear. I own a Pitboss Titan pellet grill and it functions wonderfully, gets quite hot. It has three shelves internally to cook food on and I hate to admit it, but like an idiot I wanted to test the probe out cooking vegetables, so I stuck the White probe into a bell pepper and placed it on the upper shelf. No issues there, it tracked the temperature just fine, but if you think of it, a bell pepper has soft skin and yep that's right, as soon as I reached for the bell pepper, the probe fell out down into the bowels of the grill and it ended up resting on the plate below the grill directly above the fire box. There was no way that I could recover the probe and I know from using my IR gun that the temperature at that point where the window was open, searing meat, the temperature of the flame was almost 800°. The ThermoPro TempSpike Plus itself is rated to a max temp of 572 F, but long story short my probe traced high off scale and I simply assumed it to be a melted worthless mess. The next day, once a grill had cooled down, I retrieved the probe and my first surprise was that it the probe was completely intact and there was no obvious physical damage, melting, et cetera to the probe or the casing tip whatsoever! The pictures I posted are after I pull the probe out of the grill!I kind of figured possibly maybe, I don't know, it could work? I figured it had gone all night and the battery was probably run down if it even existed any more, so I put it back in the holder, and allow it to charge for about as I recall 6 to 8 hours and GUESS WHAT?!! Lo and behold I was actually holding my phone when the probe came back to life and it tracked perfectly!! Having bought two probes, the Twin TempSpike Plus, I was able to verify this several times over the next couple of days by simply using both probes in parallel together when I was cooking and watched how the temperature tracked - and the probes tracked perfectly in alignment with each other!!I could not be more pleased with these results!! The fault and the stupidity were mine entirely, but the quality of this product saved my bacon and saved me the cost of having to replace the probe!!I would highly recommend the ThermPro TempSpike Plus - and I stated by the twin set!!

Absolutely splendid monitoring system
This is my one year review of the item. In total have done 197 cooks on them, and they have performed flawlessly. The accuracy is on point (tested against a calibrated instant read), the interface is extremely easy to follow. The temperature monitoring for both ambient as well as meat temps saves extra wires or extra probes. Longest cook so far was 27 hours and it lasted the entire time. The display interface is easy to follow, the ability to adjust for your settings is straightforward. For the price, this is a great value, considering how much I have used them so far. We have used them in the oven for Thanksgiving, on the smoker, on the grill, everywhere!

600ft range? More like 6ft!
My wife purchased this for me as a Father’s Day gift. I presently have a wired Inkbird, which works beautifully. The thought of a wireless temp probe sounded great. After looking at all of the options I picked the Twin TempSpike Plus because it’s advertised to have a 600ft range, has a temp read on the booster device, and an app for you phone. Perfect!I’m finally getting around to using it for the first time today, and the range is a joke. My smoker sits on my deck, and the “Booster” device has to stay outside within four feet from the probe because it will otherwise disconnect. My phone while running the app to monitor my temps cannot be more than ten feet from the “Booster”, and even then it constantly beeps from connection loss.Either this device is defective, or the product simply doesn’t work as advertised. I’m sure the company would bring up obstructions as interfering with the signal, but we’re talking four feet into the house. That’s not an obstruction? My Inkbird by comparison allows me to walk around my house, into the basement, and upstairs.I couldn’t even read a recipe for a side dish because I had to keep my phone by the booster.I’m kicking myself for not trying this thing out sooner, because I would’ve sent it right back.I’ve reached out to the manufacturer so I’ll see how good their customer service is. Should be under warranty. Until then I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

probe batteries do not last long
I really liked this thermometer at first. It was accurate, easy to use, and reliable—until the probes started failing. The first probe died after roughly a year, and the second one, works but only lasts a few hours before giving out. It feels like the probe batteries or internal components aren’t built for longevity. The main unit is solid, but the short lifespan of the probes makes it hard to recommend.Called customer service and they are sending me replacement probes. They have 3 year warranty. fast and friendly customer service.

I have only send it once and it lasted for a 16 hour brisket smoke.
Works great. Good to 2 probes for a big brisket. Batteries lasted and temps seemed accurate. Never lost connection either.

Excellent customer service.
UPDATE:Changed to five stars due to customer service. I contacted the company via email and was immediately mailed a replacement the next business day with no problem. They didn’t even make me go through the hassle of mailing the malfunctioned product back. Customer service is certainly top notch. The new thermometer works great! Highly recommend! After searching high and low, taking days to view all of the options in the price range, I settled with this thermometer. My previous one for the grill was this brand. It was wired and lasted me for several years. I have a hand held instant thermometer as well that works great. I thought this would be the best option in the price range. The reason for two stars: the device steadily disconnects and reconnects and the battery doesn’t last very long on the probes. I have currently been cooking a pork butt for 7 hours and one of them is already dead after being fully charge. I’m not sure if one of the probes is faulty or what. The device constantly disconnects and reconnects to my phone as well, which is really annoying. Another thing for you to consider is that to use the functions, you have to use the app. You can’t adjust target temps or anything on the device itself.Overall, I wish I would have purchased something else. I bought this one on sale, so I was fortunate to not spend full price. But even for $100, I expected much better quality.

A good buy
Pretty dope. A bit pricey but totally worth it in time and ease. It displays information easy and accurately. The magnet works great for easy storage.

Good in theory, but poor app implementation.
I purchased this because I want to be able to track the temperature of meat (and grill) when cooking. Ideally at a distance, and on my cell phone. Because I am not the most organized of folks, and being able to use my cell phone means one less thing to lose track of. When used inside of a solid piece of meat the thermometers do an excellent job of tracking temperature. The Android application allows you to set an alarm on the main base station. There are some limitations though.1) You cannot use one of the thermometers to track just the temp of the grill (useful if you are doing something like hobo potato packs). In fact the thermometer shuts down around 250F if it is not embedded in some kind of heat sink like a piece of meat.2) The phone app does not actively track temperature or deliver alarms to the phone. It simply gives a temperature when the app starts. In order to actively track the temperature in android you need to kill and restart the application. This is not ideal.3) While the phone app does not work well on its own, you need it in order to set the base stations alarms to go off.It isn't a bad device, but given the buggy app I will probably be returning mine.
