AUSTOR Desoldering Sucker and 6 Pcs Solder Braid Wick (2.0mm/2.5mm/3.0mm Width, 1.5m Length) with Flux - Desoldering Vacuum Pump Solder Removal Tool

Used in swapping batteries on GBA carts. Worked fine for it. The pump ranged from mildly effective to useless. The braid cleaned up what the pump couldn't. It was my first time soldering, so I didn't have any of this stuff on hand already, so getting a small variety was a good comfort - I knew some part of this would definitely do what I needed, even if I wasn't certain exactly which part that would be. I know this doesn't sound like a 5-star review, but what it boils down to is that I didn't pay much and I'm happy with the results after using the product. Is there better gear out there? I'm certain there is. But this was the right price for this package.

The device works and all the rolls of solder were there. The rolls were packed as sets, if you don't look close it appears there is only one roll of each. I think that's why some are claiming they didn't receive all the rolls. IDK. My order was complete as far as that goes. For the price, I don't expect much longevity from the suction device but so far it has worked quite well for my needs and I am quite satisfied.

The solder wick is excellent and worth the price, so even though I am disappointed with the sucking too I guess I am pretty happy overall. The sucker works OK, but as others said just not particularly well. I think a good part of the reason is that you have to position it just so with one hand while you heat it with the iron in your other hand, at the same time releasing the trigger on the sucker. If you get it *just right* it does pretty well. It's just that you have to coordinate it very carefully on very small components while looking through a magnifer. I got pretty frustrated and am considering shelling out for a proper desoldering iron. Overall, it's worth a shot. I still use it and like a said the wick is pretty good.

Haven't used the braided wire yet, but I do use Austor solder so it should be good. The sucker has really good power compared the the blue and silver that is usually included with cheap irons and stations and it completely cleared a lot of solder from a switch in one shot. Hasn't broken and I have used it on 3 solder joints, my wrist 4 times and dry fired it 30 times, doubt it will break like other reviewers have had happen. update 3/26/21 Solder pump was full and needed taken apart to remove a jam, normal and still working better than the silver and blue one I have.

I always wondered if these things really worked and were worth the money. I had a very sensitive and important piece of electronics that I needed to do some desoldering on, and I didn't want to take any chances of messing it up, so I purchased this Sucker to have in my bag of tricks just in case, even though I was leery of its value. Well, I was having some difficulty removing some solder from a delicate area, so I pulled this out and gave it a shot because the desoldering wicks just weren't quite enough. Bam! Problem solved. Use Wicks and this Sucker and you should be able to desolder anything!

Did not expect much for the price, however I was wrong to have low expectations. The pump is great, actually have a comfort hand grip, it’s easy to use, and the durability is pretty nice on it. Very happy with the wick as well.

Solder braid is an absolute must-have for desoldering small components and this package is a great deal. I had a suction stick already, but it was the same price to buy 6 rolls of braid separately, and this one is surprisingly well-made. Definitely a good purchase if you need more desoldering braid or are building up your bench!

It does it’s job and works ok. I just wish strips were bigger. I should have paid more attention when ordering it. I’m sure it’s more meant for computer boards. I was trying to remove solder from RC motors and esc which have a lot more solder on them. Other then that it’s a good product. Really couldn’t get the sucker to work right but on bought it for the solder wicks.

Sucker works extremely well and feels good in the hand.

The tool worked flawlessly until something gave way leading the entire pump to explode in my hands, I suspect the spring breaking something
