Purchase of the year.
I recently ended up with a $900 electric bill thanks to a week of 110 degree days in sunny California, so I decided to look into some alternatives to running central air all day. This little guy seemed to be the most well-reviewed out of all the options for portable air conditioners even though it still had an overall 3.6 rating, but I decided to give it a try. Having tested it out, I gotta say it actually works better than expected and I think some of the negative reviews have had issues for easily avoidable reasons. 1) This is not made to cool an entire room. That's not the point of it. This is for someone who wants to cool down their bed while they're sleeping or set it on their desk to cool down while they're working or maybe place in a corner of the kitchen while cooking. Basically, it's for when you're spending a lot of time in roughly the same spot and don't necessarily need to cool down your entire house. 2) it doesn't work wonders for the first 20 minutes or so. The water needs to soak through the filter cartridge because the water evaporating in a (ideally) dry climate is the science behind cooling the air. Until that happens it's basically just a little box fan. I get the impression some reviewers tested it out for 5 minutes, concluded it doesn't work, and wrote their review. Give it at least 20 minutes and you should definitely notice that it's pushing out air a good 8-10ish degrees cooler than the room temp is. 3) because this relies on water evaporating, it works better in drier climates. If you're in California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc this will work great. If you're in a humid place like Florida, you should frankly leave. 4) Based on what some have mentioned in terms of its air pushing capabilities, it seems like they maybe don't realize there are multiple settings. At its lowest setting I would say they're right: you basically need to have it within 12 inches of you to even notice it's on. However it has 4 settings that you cycle through by pushing the button on top (and there are no other buttons, it's pretty fool-proof). I think the 2nd setting is probably what most people would use while sitting it on their desk or beside their bed (higher settings might actually make you cold at that proximity). At its highest setting it's a bit noisy (like a PC fan at full speed), but I think it would actually be sufficient to cool a *small* bedroom at that level. If you have something like a 10×10 space or smaller and you don't have high ceilings, this might actually work for cooling the entire room at its highest setting. In a larger space, however, just remember this is made to cool you down while having it a few feet from you, not on the opposite end of where ever you are. I just did a little test and you can feel a cool breeze from 8 feet away at its highest setting. Beyond that you probably won't notice much effect. Also, I didn't notice this when I bought it, but it plugs in using a USB cord so you can power it with your computer or plug it into a power bank and take it on the go. It also only uses 7.5 watts which is literally 3,492.5 watts fewer than the average Central air system. That's not a joke or a typo. On a related note, I've seen some claim the price ($79 as of writing) is a bit steep, but consider that for anyone who works from home or stays in the same area for large parts of the day, this will allow you to kick the thermostat up a few degrees without sweating through your shirt, and then you'll save pretty substantially on each electric bill. It can pay for itself in one billing cycle if you let it, and after that it's actually costing you money not to have one. Overall, I'm perfectly satisfied with this purchase and it actually performs better than reviews had led me to believe. Just remember it's made to cool a roughly 10×10 area or smaller, not your entire estate. If you're ok with that, you'll love it.

Cumbersome cannot add ice. Has cardboard filter you cannot clean.
This came looking used. Had scuff marks and a crumpled filter. The filter cover that said “remove before use” was in tact so I know that the product was not used but is designed this way. It requires you to move three different pieces to get to the small water hole which also needs a tiny cup inserted to fill it. You cannot put ice in it and the blue light on the entire side of the product does not turn off. Neither does the bright light that shows it is on. It goes together in a way that requires fumbling and does not appear to snap shut seamlessly unless I have not had enough college to accomplish this.

Your personal portable AC for hot weather
I’m really impressed with this portable air conditioner. Its lightweight, compact design makes it incredibly easy to carry, making it a perfect companion for camping, road trips, traveling, or any outdoor adventure. The 27 oz water tank provides up to 8 hours of cooling comfort, which is more than enough for overnight use or a full work session. One of my favorite features is that it can be powered by a power bank, so you can stay cool even when there’s no access to conventional air conditioning or electrical outlets. The built-in colorful LED lights are a nice bonus, doubling as a soft night lamp for tents or bedrooms. It’s simple to set up, easy to refill, and very convenient to operate. It also works wonderfully as a personal air conditioner on a work desk, providing a refreshing breeze without taking up much space. If you’re looking for an affordable, portable cooling solution for personal use indoors or outdoors, this is an excellent choice. I would definitely recommend it!

Works for a hot computer room!
I have a small home office packed with computers, which makes the room significantly warmer than the rest of the house. The central AC just couldn't keep up. This small evaporative cooler has made a difference. I placed it near my desk to circulate cool air around my setup, and it lowers the temperature in the room nicely. I recommend it if you have a spot in your home that needs extra spot-cooling!

Better than nothing, but not life changing.
I've been staying out in the desert more than usual this summer, and the thermostat is set at 77º even when it's 110º outside (despite my protests). So at night, I'm pretty much a sweltering, sweaty mess. I saw this portable AC unit was on sale and took a chance. A full water tank only lasts about half the night (I know it's "working" because the water is gone after about 4 hours), and while the air blowing out IS a bit cooler than just a regular fan, it certainly doesn't fill the (small) room with cool air. It's basically just another small fan pointed at me that's slightly cooler for a few hours. It's better than nothing, but doesn't do a whole lot. It is light weight and easy to carry to the water filter for refilling.

Best Purchase For Van Life
Life changing for travel! Best purchase so far for vanlife. I’ve only used it a little over a week so far but a week straight for vanlife and on high, it runs for almost 24 hours without needing a refill. Easy to operate. I pull out all the hot air with my roof fan then close it up and turn this on and it cools it down nicely. The temperature difference between the cab and the living area is unbelievable. This is not true AC obviously but it cools my insulated van down in about 15 minutes to a comfortable temperature to sleep like a baby on 85 degrees, humid nights. It’s quiet so far, working like a charm. I recommend this for anyone traveling.

Don't buy
This is definitely not worth the height it's very cheaply made plastic is very thin easy to bend the fan portion technically is a fan but even on its highest settings you'd be better off to buy just a regular fan that moves more air definitely disappointed in this product I use it for one day I'm going to return it I did my research and checked everything online and wasn't expecting true AC temperatures coming out of it but I thought that the fan should definitely be stronger it should be bigger and it shouldn't be so flimsy and cheap it only has two stars cuz technically it is a fan but I definitely not recommend buying this and damn sure don't give it to somebody as a gift

Not worth the price
This thing does nothing to cool even the smallest of spaces. Even with the coldest water, the only way you would even feel a difference is if it's 3 inches from your skin. You're better off just getting a little fan. Much too expensive for what it doesn't do. It also leaks sometimes so keep a towel handy.

I LOVE THIS THAAAAANG
I cannot say enough good things about this. It has saved me in the heat since my ac is down in my apartment. Yes it’s only meant to be directly on you but it will cool you down significantly. Don’t listen to these reviews saying it doesn’t work. It does! 12/10

really effective in keeping me cool
Great product, was really effective in keeping me cool working at my desk at home. Just note, it is really small won't cool a room or anything, but when you point it on you works well. Only annoying thing was I the light is always on, so I couldn't use it at night as the light was too bright to sleep with. Still worth the 5 stars!

disappointed..
I am very disappointed with this product. It was not cheap, and I expected it to last much longer than a few days. When I first received it, it worked very well. It was nice, cool, and performed exactly as expected. However, after only 4 days of use, the power stopped working and the fans completely stopped working as well. The product is now unusable. I have tried turning it on again, but there is no power and the fans do not run anymore. Considering how quickly it failed, I believe the item is defective. I would like a replacement or a full refund. This is very disappointing because it was working perfectly at first and then suddenly stopped working after only a few days.
