Why did it take me so long to buy a mortar & pestle?
I’m honestly wondering why it took me so long to purchase a mortar and pestle! I am extremely happy with this one, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. There are several reasons why I truly enjoy using it: 1. Sturdy and well-made This mortar and pestle is very heavy-duty—it literally feels like a small brick. That weight makes a huge difference when grinding because it stays in place and feels very stable. 2. I appreciate kitchen tools that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, and this definitely fits that. 3. Heavy, stable and makes grinding things up fun!
Got this specifically for making Pesto. It works great and I am happy with the size I chose. Both the weight and the included rubber base that can be applied keeps the tool from sliding around. The inside is not polished, and was cut with slight ridges that help to grind up ingredients. The black granite sits on my granite counter and looks lovely. It is heavy, so I took seriously the suggestion to not put it in a high cabinet. The seasoning instructions were a bit daunting at first, but worked great. I would probably get a second set if I wanted to grind sweet and leave this one dedicated to savory ingredients.
