My daughter and I are looking for tie-dye projects. Will this accept or repel the dye?

I am sorry, I don't have any experience with tie-dye, but the fabric seems fairly regular. I did do an iron on transfer, but can't speak directly to tie-dying the Apron. Side not, there was a noticable weave on this fabric, which "may" not work well with Tie-dying.

Does anyone know how long the strings on this apron are? Thanks in advance.

Each side is 39" long after washing, more than enough to wrap around the back and tie in front on a 36" waist.
