These nail clippers by Saviland are recommended for use with acrylic nails; I don’t wear nail extensions but I do have naturally very long nails so I use these nail clippers to keep my nails all the same length.On first inspection, they look like the sort of clippers you would use to trim pets’ nails; they have a blade that moves over a plate with a curved hole in it.The curved hole accommodates the profile of the nail extension and keeps it squarely in position as you squeeze the clipper handle to move the blade forward - very much how a guillotine works.The clippers come with 16 tiny but extremely strong button magnets; the idea is that you make a stack of these magnets to form a spacer to the depth of the nail you want, then attach it to the cutting plate of the clippers - I tried to get a photo of just a couple of the magnets but they were so strong, they shot across the table, and reattached themselves to the original stack… after several attempts, I gave up!To trim the nail to length, you insert the nail through the curved hole until your fingertip touches the stack of magnets. Repeat this for every fingernail and you will end up with all your nails trimmed to the same length.You can finish off the nails by filing to the desired shape: square, oval, stiletto, etc.Overall, the principle is good and it works well, however separating, stacking and positioning the magnets on the clippers is very fiddly, especially as they are so incredibly strong so trying to get just one or two magnets off the full stack was impossible without the help of a NON metallic “tool” (I used the plastic end of my nail file)... this is the only reason why I’ve given it a 4 star rating instead of 5.

Magnets are strong and hold and it cuts well the clipper is not stiff

I used to be a nail tech for over 25 years so I know my nail, equipment . This is a really pretty cutter ( normally only get silver or black ) . It is not the most substantial one I have had and definitely only for personal use not for professional . For home use it will do the job. Managed to cut through my gel nails fairly easily. The magnets can be used to ensure you get the same length cut on each nail but its not something I have ever done as I find them pretty fiddly to be honest . For the price I think there are better ones out there but for home use when its only maybe going to be used every 3 weeks or so then its great . Very lightweight so easy to carry around if need be

This is good to use and has added magnets so you can choose your ideal length. I got this to trim nails to a certain length and then I finish off with my nail drill for a lively smooth finish but you could also simply finish them off to perfection after cutting by using a file. Very handy for false nail wearers

These nail clippers work well with ease. You get a little box for you to put the magnets in when not in use. But for when using, you use the magnets and use it as a gauge so you always clip your nails exactly the same length each time, rather than guessing by eye. That's such a handy thing to have! Keeping them in a neat and tidy little box ensures they do not get lost. Then when they are in the box, because they are magnets, they still stick to the clippers so the box doesn't get lost either.
