Why do I hear only ONE language (English or Spanish) when I first use the cards?

It has 3 playback modes: English only, Spanish only, and bilingual. Upon first use, if only one language is heard, press and hold the "Repeat" and "Volume" buttons for 3 seconds to switch modes. This is a built-in feature, not a version error.

If the talking flash cards can't charge

Check the charging port for debris or damage. Try a different charger to confirm it works. If the sensor or audio has issues (e.g., unclear sound, low volume), contact a professional for repair.
