can this be used for external applications?

Not sure. I would suspect if used externally that the elements would eventually cause the sticky strip to disintegrate. I do however think it is very effective at the bottom of internal doors.

What is the adhesive as i need to reposition it

I used a pritt stick or superglue

How many doors will this do please ?

It just did one door and you have to cut it to the correct size.

Will this work with a fitted coir mat?

Hard to say but most likely. These are intended to touch the floor but are very flexible so bend as they move over raised surfaces
