Audio
After setting up works well and the sound is good. I use it for mainly listening to Apple Music

Got my audio up and running.
I have tried a coupe of different brand that would work with my Samsung TV, Apple TV and Proscan amp . This one worked well. My amp is old and did not work with audio over HDMI, and the Samsung cheaped out and did not have optical out. I am happy.

Only passes the SELECTED audio type (PCM, Surrount) through to HDMI output
I purchased this so that I could extract 2.0 (stereo) PCM audio from the toslink connection to a wireless headphone transmitter. (The transmitter accepts ONLY 2.0/PCM input. The expectation: That I could insert this device between the output of a streaming box, which can output surround audio, and the receiver - and the 'untouched' surround audio portion on the HDMI input would continue through to the HDMI output connection - and the the device would 'convert' the surround audio signal to 2.0/PCM and send it out the toslink output to go to the headphone transmitter. What actually happens: If I select the 2.0 switch option on the device, I DO get a down-converted 2.0/PCM signal from the toslink output as needed. But here's where the problem is: In choosing that 2.0/PCM switch option, it ALSO then output ONLY 2.0/PCM audio on the HDMI output connection going to the receiver. So I then lose my surround audio going to the speakers. If I choose the surround switch option on the device, surround audio signal is restored onto the HDMI output...but then I have no 2.0/PCM signal on the toslink output again, so then the headphones don't work. Instead of labeling this as an "Audio Extractor", it should be labeled as an "Audio Converter" since the switch setting seems to convert in the incoming audio signal to the switch setting and then sends that converted signal to to the HDMI-out and the Toslink-output.

Overall great
Does what I wanted it for (hook the bluray player up to my stereo). Picture quality seems unchanged and the pass-through audio works well. There is however a slight audio delay between the stereo and the TV speakers. Not a showstopper; I just turn off the TV speakers.

Orel hda-912 good product
Sound is great. Functionality as it should. Picture qualities are good. Works with a usb-c docking station I bought for the hdmi capability to a tv or monitor. Tried it with the Orel hda-912 and works with my iPad.

FINALLY! Something that can eliminate audio delay
I was using ARC on my Roku 65" TV but I had very noticeable audio lag when I output as anything but stereo audio. If I used optical, it minimized it a bit but it was still there. So I read some reviews and tried this much like how I used to have an A/V receiver to do the same thing. Basically, the HDMI output from the hub goes into this which strips out the audio that I send over to the 5.1 sound bar. Audio lag is completely unnoticeable now. This was always an issue with all TVs I ever had even going back about 10+ years on HDMI... it made playing games almost unbearable... but it made watching TV harder..... it wasn't until I hooked up an A/V receiver and then output that to the TV without the bitstream audio where the audio remained in sync. So this box does that same job and the sync is so well done. This saved me about $200 on buying another 4K receiver too to solve this problem. Now I need a larger HDMI hub since I'm running everything through this now and outputting the optical to my sound bar. ARC is very good... but the lag definitely is not. One thing is that sometimes I get an issue where the colorspace or something is off when I go from game mode with HDR back to regular.... the colors get all messed up. The solution is to put the HDMI hub and this device into an Alexa controlled plug (probably about $20 or less). Set up a routine so that when it happens that it cuts power to both the HDMI hub and this device and then turns it back on 3 seconds later. When you do that, it will fix the HDMI colorspace problem. Annoying? Yes, partially. But audio sync is a bigger one and with the Alexa routine, I don't have to get up when it happens.

Ik heb het product gebruikt voor een Apple TV om het geluid naar actief analoge boxen te krijgen. Het geluid is goed, en het product ondersteund SEC HDMI in combinatie met TV. Ik raad dit product aan.

Met Requirement of using 4K Fire Sick with 4K projector and older AV Receiver
My home theatre setup consist of a 12 year old Denon AV Receiver and a projector that supports FHD. Over the years, the usage of multiple input sources such as DVD, Blu-Ray, Play Station & Nintendo ( children grew up) became less and less in usage and all the entertainment is now streamed through an Amazon Fire Stick. Recently, when my 12 year old projector finally quit working, I upgraded to a 4K projector and a 4K Fire Stick. With my Denon AVR supporting only 1080P, I first tried plugging the Fire Stick directly to the projector and use ARC through the 30 Feet HDMI cable to get audio through my Denon AVR. While this worked, the audio fidelity and level was very disappointing - maybe because of the 30 feet length of the HDMI cable from the projector to the AVR. Hence purchased the OREI 4K audio extractor from Amazon. Delivery: 5 Stars ( same day) Performance: 4 Stars Video: 5 Stars With the Amazon fire stick connected directly to the OREI Audio extractor, and the video signals pushed through the 30 feet HDMI cable to my projector, there is no noticeable picture quality degradation as compared to plugging the Fire stick directly to the projector. Audio: 4 Stars With the optical out from the OREI connected to my Denon AVR, the sound fidelity and levels are good and resolved my problem with the ARC. 4 Stars because there is still a very little bit but perceivable drop in audio fidelity and levels as compared to direct HDMI input to my AVR, but it’s almost 90% there. Overall, very happy with the device.
