Not a proper mixer, but a good preamp!
I bought this audio device to add to my setup as a sub-mixer before vocal processing and stereo multitrack recording. At the low price point of $30, my fellow hobbyists would probably say to never add such a cheap piece of equipment anywhere in the signal chain, some even out of fear it might damage their precious equipment. But I was genuinely curious about whether I could get any use out of it. So, here is my HONEST review.1. First let me correct what I said in my earlier review. This device does have stereo (but not pannable) R and L channel inputs and they do both work. However, R/L inputs are very weak on gain and do very almost nothing to make mics audible. I think they might be meant only for a line level signal. For people new to audio, line level signals have already passed through preamplifiers, but have not been driven up to speaker level yet.The two XLR inputs are both mono/center channel, and after testing I have verified that they both work as intended. The drawback is the lack of a panning option. The amplification on these is also weak, but sufficient to just barely clip the signal if you shout at the mic.2. Gain as I mentioned is very weak and the indicators do not show db levels correctly. This is a big minus if you plan to use this as anything other than a cute little preamp. I had to turn mics up almost all the way and push the volume up to +10 on both the individual channel and the main bus to get a visible green light signal through on the indicators. At “green” the audio was already distorting and clipping on the input to my vocal processor without this being indicated. Since this is the only reference point on the mixer which has any usefulness for gain staging (nowhere on the dials is anything marked "0" or "U" as other New Baxs mixers are), this is a major issue. Did I mention that the gain is weak?3. This mixer can incorporate Bluetooth, USB and input RCA connected audio devices, but I noticed there was an audible crackle when I tried using the Bluetooth function. It only fades into the background when you turn up the gain and volume for 3/4 channel all the way. I have not tried out the USB and RCA functions yet so I can’t comment on these. I think this function may be useful for practice but not recording. So, why give five stars? Because … I expected way worse than the product I got. Because this “mixer” (which doesn’t do anything that you could remotely call mixing) actually functions best when used as a preamp to near-line-level, and I got EXACTLY the classic ribbon mic sound I was looking for through it.The noise floor is also really low with correct gain staging and cable arrangement, below -80dB, according to the gauge on my Tascam vocal processor. At those levels, it’s safe to say most of that was self-noise from my condenser mic and ambient noise in the environment.I started by singing the vocals to Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” and noticed a lot of beneficial coloration to the sound. This device draws a lot of warmth and harmonics out of my bass vocals. It sounds like I am singing into a vintage ribbon microphone with the sound being processed on analogue equipment. It has that “tube” warmth that a lot of digital devices try in vain to capture. I almost the sound from this $30 New Baxs preamp better than the preamps on my multitracker. Granted, it does leave some undesirable artifacts (which can be controlled by using the reverb/delay options provided) and it is lacking definition on the treble end, but for backing/tracking vocals I think this $30 plaything may make an excellent addition to my gear.

Great for ham radios with boom mics!
Works perfect to boost the audio from my condenser mic, and shape the audio just enough, so that it sounds great through my Heil AD-1-I into my Icom IC-7300. I've been getting great audio reports, and have been asked what I am using, so it is working very well. If you want to get this setup working with your IC-7300, make sure to pick up a foot switch, like the Heil FS-3, which plugs directly into the AD-1-I. You'll also need an RCA to 1/8 TRS cable to get the audio from the mixer board to the AD-1-I.

Almost Perfect
This is the third timr I bought this item. Two main reasons why I have only 4 stars is because of two things:1. The power port is ready to wear out or damaged if you're not careful enough2. The left and right audio did not completely isolate the channelsOverall, it's affordable, portable, practical and convenient to use.

Not for live stage, home practice only
Works great for home small use, can't handle high output and sound get distorted. Wouldn't use for live stage. Great for practice and maybe alright with recording. I use it for tiktok live and it's fine. On stage, well yeah at higher volume there is distortion and altogether sound cut-out at times.

Poor sound quality
Simple and compact but unfortunately has lots of humming sounds both with Bluetooth and when using a line input... Ironically didn't get a chance to try it out until the day that the return window closed. I'm stuck with it and it's not very good at all
