You get what you pay for...
Bought as a Christmas gift for my son. He's getting into snooker and wanted to get him a cue good enough to keep for life. This delivered. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Lovely finish to the wood and the case feels premium too. All in all a very happy customer. I got the black one rather than the green version as to me just looked classier, but that's personal taste.

Good cue but warping in a short length of time.
The cue was good to start with but already showing sign of warping, despite taking care of it and storing it properly in the case. I didnât expect that.

âŠ.and honestly, I have to say I have found it to be fantastic
I have been what I would call a casual snooker player for the past 30 years, with my local social club having had a full size table over this time, and through the years I have owned and tried lots of different cues. I was therefore very pleased to be able to trial this Mark Selby cue and hard case from BCE ProtĂ©gĂ©âŠâŠâŠ.and honestly, I have to say I have found it to be fantastic. Please see video and photos included with this review. The cue is beautifully crafted, from the feel of the North American Ash to its weight and balance, how it glides through leading hand and how true and straight it is. Also the tip out of the box has good shape and will not require work other than chalking it. The addition of the 15cm extension is a nice bonus meaning you can still use your own cue for those hard to reach shots in hand or with the rest. With many cues I have owned over the years that have come with a case the case has been of pretty low quality, be that for soft or hard cases. I am pleased to say that with this cue that is definitely note the âcaseâ, for the hard case with this cue is realy good quality. It feels strongly made, has good quality hinges, nice felt lining with good quality stitching, durable faux leather material on the outside with strong plastic bumpers at the end for added protection. I happily recommend this cue and case for the reasons above.

A Nice Quality Cue & Case
The BCE protĂ©gĂ© 3/4 cut Mark Selby cue and hard case is a very good quality cue set, the cue is well made and glides effortlessly along your skin when taking shots, it feels silky smooth and grain and detailing look nice. The case is well made and includes three hinged clasps to hold it shut, inside there are padded grooves for the cue sections to locate into, I feel like the butt section could have been smaller to hold it better as it does slide along when the case is closed. This is a three piece cue where a 6â extension piece is included for those out of reach shots, I only fit this as required, this section locates and screws in and out quickly for quick shots. I like the butt detail, but I have noticed the description is incorrect along with the images, they do not represent the colour and style of a cue I received, also the detail is a single prong not four as per the description. The nib when received was slightly worn due to the sections not being inside the case to begin with, would these sections not be better off to be inside the case for shipping? Overall, a top quality Mark Selby branded cue, feels great to use, well balanced and straight, strikes the balls well, tips can be removed and replaced using glue, nice quality case with BCE branding, more of a snooker cue than a pool cue depending on ball size, happy to recommend, thank you.

Beautiful engineering. Well made, stylish and perfectly balanced.
I used to play pool quite a lot when I was younger, and back then I always used to wish I had my own cue. The ones in my local were always badly bent, and not properly looked after. Unfortunately, there are not many opportunities for me to practice in my local area, as most of the pubs no longer have a pool table, and I certainly don't have one. Nonetheless, if I do get a chance to play, I'm really happy with the quality of this cue. It's beautifully engineered, perfectly straight, and arrived extremely well packed and protected. The hard case that comes with it has a dedicated compartment to hold a couple of cubes of chalk, in addition to the cue itself. The case has three aged metal fasteners on the outside (one central, and one towards each end). Inside, the case is soft and well padded, with two lengthways sections that divide, separate and protect the two halves of the cue, which screw together with what looks like a quality solid brass thread. The cue is perfectly smooth, made from an attractive pale ash wood, highlighted with a dark grain. The handle is smooth and very comfortable to hold and grip. This is where most of the weight is, with the front section being extremely lightweight. It feels very well balanced once the two pieces of the cue are screwed together. You also get a matching six inch extension piece. This screws onto the end of the handle, to help you reach longer shots. One very slight niggle is that the handle on the case is located on the widest top surface, rather than the slimmer side edge. That makes it slightly more awkward and bulky to carry, as it doesnât lay flat against your side. This doesnât detract from the quality of the product inside the case though. Iâm sure that anybody who is a keen pool player would absolutely love this cue. I presume it's a special limited edition piece, as there is a holographic sticker on the back, marked with a unique serial number. Iâm afraid I don't know who Mark Selby is, but his signature is also on a small plate underneath the back of the handle.

Disappointed. Shaft raw wood, unfinished. Can't see that lasting
