Great teaching and involvement rod
Love the design and quality. Comes with a plastic fish on the end that semi-floats when attached to the line. We had a couple times where the fish fell off but I think it was user error in tying the line to it. We were able to find it as ours was bright yellow. Plenty of line in the reel that when it got stuck in the weeds while we were drifting, we could let the line out until we were able to get closer. Great size for my 3 year old and he learned how to cast, open and close the bail, and and reel it in within 4 days. Boy can that thing cast far! The fish is a great weight to learn and let kids have fun. We didnโt have any issues with lines tangling either. The only odd thing is that itโs NOT set up like most rods Iโve used where the reeling handle is on the left side. This one, we have to switch hands between casting and reeling in due to being right handed. I would definitely buy again for the value and quality I got. Especially with the character choices.

Great for entertaining cats indoors
My cats love "going fishing" in the backyard. This involves a regular sized fishing rod & reel using a cat toy as bait. Lately it's been a squirrel. I got this rod & reel for bad weather days. This way we can get some pent up energy out of their system vs them climbing the walls. Literally. The length is perfect for casting the cat toy indoors reducing the chances of damaging anything, or someone. My 1 year old cats are BIG BOYS at ~14 lbs each. The rod & reel has held up so far. I can't say the same for the toy fish.

Fun for small kids that want to fish with grandpa!
My grandson loves his fishing rod. Great rod for young children not quite ready to handle real hook fishing! Comes with floating fish bobber.
