Based on the title and description, I bought this with the full expectation that it would work with the Asus ZenFone 5Z that I have. It DOES NOT WORK!! After conducting research to determine if I was not doing something correctly, I discovered that the Zenfone 5Z does not have video out capability through the USB C port, which is necessary to use this cable to mirror the screen to another TV/Monitor with an HDMI input.The Zenfone 5Z would need Display Port (DP) output capability, or Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) capability to use it with this cable and it has neither. I thought the mention of the Zenfone 5Z compatibility in the title and description meant they had tested and verified it works with this phone. I was wrong. Even the description mentioning it’s compatible with Android is misleading because it will not work with any Android Phone or Tablet; it will only work with the ones that support DP or MHL.
