Leviton Decora Smart Switch Anywhere Companion, DAWSC-1RW, White

This works very well. I have a long hallway with a light switch only at one end. This went in easily - the instructions were clear. It works reliably allowing me to turn the light on and off from either end.

Worked out well in our master bedroom. Originally it had a 3-way setup: one switch near the door, one near the bed but infuriatingly just out of reach. Previous occupants had jury-rigged a one-way wireless dimmer at the door, replacing the 3-way switch. It required that the other 3-way be in one position. One of the grandkids flipped it. That meant a half-hour debugging session to determine there was no wiring fault. Anyway, with the combination of DAWSC-1RW, DD0SR-1Z, and D215S-2RW, I now have both walls working as 3-ways and the wireless unit sitting on my night stand. Perfect. Only critique is that figuring out the parts combination needed, PLUS the color change kit, took a couple of hours to make sure I wasn't buying incompatible bits.

These are great. A little pricey but well made and easy to set up.

Easy to use smart switch to control anything that needs to be on a switch. The app works with Alexa and my entire house is controlable by voice and I can make it look like I'm home all the time.

These are the best invention, like, ever. We bought this anywhere switch to pair with the plug socket (which now controls the bedside lamps). Easiest install EVER. Took seconds. And, I have to say, it has not given me any issues when we have power outages (unlike the smart lightbulbs I bought from somewhere else and always need to be reset). Installed the Anywhere switch near the door. Perfect.

This is a review of the switch and the Leviton D215P outlet and goes indepth regarding the pairing process.This was going to be a 1 star review because these were such a pain to pair. The instructions really need some work.. When ordering these, you need to know and understand the following before purchase:First, in order to install the leviton DAWSC-1RW wall switch AND apple home hub with the D215P outlet, you need to intall and pair in a specific order, which by the way does not appear in their directions.Second, know and understand that their directions stink and do not match what you actually need to do.Third, whisky or rum may actually help when pairing these..things.After trying to pair these for about an hour I started searching the Goog for directions, after following the directions found on the Leviton site and retrying them for a second hour, I started searching the Goog for liquor stores near me and local therapists.After another extensive search I found a set of directions to create a life sized Battle Star Galactica Cylon that runs on AI and a set of directions that gave the proper steps to pair this stuff. After very close deliberation, I opted for the pairing but still may come back to the Cylon project a bit later.Anyway, here is what to do:1. plug in the outlet (this will probably start blinking green, but ignore it- it is trying to trick you into thinking everything is ok and that your cat really does love you- which are ALL LIES)2. In the wall switch there are two plastic tabs that keep the battery from discharging or running while it ships or sits on the shelf, pull those tabs. Don't worry, those do not activate a self destruct, they are perfectly safe.3. The switch may start blinking green, again ignore this. It is trying to convince you something special is happening, but if you look at the green lights flashing long enough you realize it is "remorse" code saying ,"You should have just kept the old switch that worked you incredibly dumb idio..."4. Now, on the outlet, press the button 5 times. Not 6, not 3, don't hold it in for 5 seconds like the instructions say to do, but press it 5 times and 5 times only. This tells the outlet that YOU are in charge and you demand that it go into pairing mode. Don't actually tell it you demand anything, that makes it mad. Trust me, you don't want to make this thing mad.5. On the switch, ignore the flashing green lights even though they are bright and make you want to look at them,don't. It might make you cluck like a chicken while running around the back yard in your boxers. That could be the whisky but it is hard to tell. Press the on switch 5 times and 5 times only. If you press it 6 times it may very well activate that auto destruct sequence and the switch wont pair- so only 5 times.6. Say 4 Hail Marys and hold your breath. Not too long though or you may turn into a smurf.7. If all goes according to plan it will have paired to the switch.8. Go back to the outlet and press the button another 5 times.9. open apple hub and click the + sign, then add new accessory.10. use the scan thingie on your phone that appears and scan the little apple home hub lcon QR code. This will start the apple pairing process.11. Say another 4 Hail Marys and hope for the best.12. Check that everything works. If it does, fantastic. If it doesn't, order another bottle because at this point it is probably empty.Good luck.Once you have everything working it works quite well and is very useful. Their instructions lack substance and steps, and are even misleading at times, so I actually did have to search for ways to pair everything.Overall I do recommend them as a combined pair (wireless wall switch and outlet).The outlet as a stand alone unit:If you are going to use this as a stand alone unit, meaning you are not using it with a switch and are just going to use it to connect and control using apple home hub, alexa, google, etc, this will work fine.Just remember that you need to press the button 5 times and do not hold the button in for 5 or more seconds. Just press it 5 times and it goes into pairing mode, then connect it to your app. For apple, you use apple home hub, add accessory, scan the apple QR code on the instructions sheet, and it should pair. You can label it for the room or device you want to control through the apple hub app.Hope this helps. And your cat does really love you, unless you don't have a cat...then the neighbors cat loves you and you should probably return it to them at some point during the install and pairing process.

Great product, and a very creative idea. I had a floor lamp in the far side of the room that was manually controlled at the lamp. Rather than cross the room to turn it on I used this switch with a compatible plug to control the lamp from the room entrance. And, even better, rather than use the single plate cover that came with it I was able to mount the switch on the wall close to the existing 2 switches and use a 3 gang plate cover so it blends perfectly.

Looks and works great. Wish it was WiFi though.
