I absolutely loved this product! From the moment I started using it, I could tell it was high quality and thoughtfully made. It works exactly as described and even exceeded my expectations. The design is great, it’s easy to use, and it delivers fantastic results. I’m genuinely impressed and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering it.

Yeah it may be a little pricy but totally worth it. It’s already a mundane and frustrating chore, it’s worth splurging a bit to make it easier. Trash bags fit perfect, has a slot built it to store extra bags for easy refills, built in recycle with handle, AND pods to eliminate smells. If your job is taking out the trash, trust me and buy it.

Love the look of the trash can. Also note this trash can comes with trial trash bags and a trial smell good refill for the inside. Both which you have to order through the company. I’m sure you could find cheaper alternatives. The only con is they could’ve made the foot pedal a little wider. Can only fit your tippy tippy toes it to open lol

The lid is just a flat lid, no lip to it to seal the top of the trashcan to ensure smells don't emanate. The lip in the picture you see isn't part of the lid but a secondary component that you lift, place your trash bag on the right side trash bin and then close that lip to hide the trash bag rim. (see my pictures) That flat lid slightly lifts and doesn't properly close. So we are having to make sure we take the trash out more frequently before things start to smell up the kitchen. The other critique I have is that the trashcan side doesn't come out, not like the recycle bin does. You can lift the recycle bin out, but not the trashcan side. That could be a problem if your bag breaks and leaks inside that can. Other trash cans allow you to at least lift out the inner trashcan for cleaning. For the price this seems a bit pricey, considering some of the flaws.

Looks pretty, but I'm disappointed and frustrated with the operational quality. The first unit wouldn't close completely or just stay up, negating the purpose of having the lid to keep pests out. After *a lot* of run around trying to fulfill a warranty claim with customer service, finally got a replacement. Now the replacement, while it closes properly, squeaks when the lid opens and closes. I really don't want to deal with customer service ever again, so I'll just try lubricating it periodically like other people have mentioned, which is unacceptable having spent the mount of money we did on this trash can. I'm definitely experiencing regret buying this item. I should have just gone with the Kohler unit at Costco that was half the price. Here I thought I'd be set for life finally getting the brand-name simplehuman trash can.

Pretty disappointed in this product. I've had it for less than 2 years and the lid is completely busted from normal use. It would not be as upsetting if this product didn't cost $200 plus dollars. While it worked it was a dream, but I don't think in good conscious I can recommend a product that's has 0 longevity.

Been looking for a suitable bit of kit to use as receptacle for both general waste and recycling in kitchen. Had a 20 litre simplehuman bin which had served us well for many years. Recycling went in a plastic box bought from Ikea kept in utility room. My daughter had moved into a new house and on first visit noticed she had bought one of these dual bins. So impressed bought one for our house. Been using it for months now and absolutely delighted with purchase. It’s a big piece of kit but it swallows general waste and the vast majority of kitchen recycling. This is a well designed and made unit from Simplehuman. Always buy their purpose made bags because they are strong and maximise efficiency of removal and replacement. Recommended!

Well built-works for me

A practical, sturdy, attractive addition to the kitchen.

Looks great and works well. The only thing is it sometimes slides back towards the wall after multiple usage and made a small mark. They have one out now that is sensor activated that would solve that minor issue.
