Very easy to use
They made this so easy to use, never used a torch before I was a little worried. They give you easy instructions, works perfectly. Highly recommend this project for beginners or those that have used torches before. It has the knobs for gas and igniter. Good quality. Very happy with this purchase.

Great for Cooking or Working on Cars
Doesn't have great reach for hard to get to stuck bolts on a car, but applies more direct heat in tight spaces. COOKING: Have also used this for Searing BBQ or other Cooked Meats and Meals, works great to flash melt cheese

Had to work at it...
Lights quick and easy, puts out a good hot flame, but is hard to regulate if you want a small flame.

Well built
Much better tool than I thought I was getting. Built to last and very easy to use. Like the extra bend in the flame tube.

Love this torch head! (If only it allowed for 1-handed operation...)
It was probably 15 or 20 years ago when I first discovered the wonderfulness of an auto-ignition mini torch like this for pretty much any use, whether igniting a stove or a campfire, loosening a bolt or soldering. I am amazed at how many people still pay up for cheap electric matches from the grocery store that don't last long at all and only offer an emasculated flame. The positives:The flame is nice and sharp and has an ergonomically simple valve to adjust higher / lower. The ignitor button is crisp and works well. It's a small, compact size which, among other things, prevents the bottle from being as "top heavy," so it's easy to stand-up, relatively balanced, on the ground or dirt. And it comes with a 3-year replacement warranty if anything quits working, which is quite good! The negatives, relatively minor but certainly worth noting. The biggest negative is that it isn't well-suited for 1-handed operation as you have to open the valve to start the gas before igniting the flame, so you really need one hand to hold the canister and another to adjust the gas flow. Then to turn the gas off, you don't just release the trigger like on my other model; you have to affirmatively turn back the gas valve to the off position. (If there was a solution for this, I'd call this a 5+ star product.)The other minor issue is that with the short nozzle, the flame will be closer to your hands and the tank itself so you can't "reach" into a bbq grill or fire pit quite as easily to ignite them. There's definitely a place for both designs, so I am keeping my old torch up by my grill and this new one will live permanently in the workshop. (And FWIW, I have decided that I like the short, squat canister design for this torch, but will stay with the longer, skinnier cans for the old, longer torch head.)
