The texture is thick and balm-like, but it spreads without dragging and leaves a slightly protective layer rather than a greasy feel. It has a mild sunscreen scent and a faint white cast at first, which fades as it absorbs. It feels more like a barrier cream with sun protection than a typical moisturizer. I think it’s a solid option for Accutane users who need moisture plus SPF in one step, but very reactive skin might still sting due to the chemical filters. Patch testing helps. Overall, it’s been a reliable daytime product for keeping dryness manageable.

I have very dry and slightly sensitive skin and I love this. I usually need to layer at least 3 moisturizers to get through the day, but this alone is actually enough. I love that it has sun protection so I don’t have to apply more sunscreen on top. I wear a full face of makeup on top and am thrilled to say I had absolutely no issues with pilling, caking, or patchiness. The finish is quite nice, neither shiny nor matte, just nice and glassy. I have not noticed any white cast, but I have light-medium skin so I don’t usually notice that anyway.

Cannot say enough good things about this product. Has really repaired my skin barrier and the spf is an added bonus. Some white cast but it fades.

I have this cicaplast balm with UV SPF 50 and the regular one. I think these are ok and I'm on the fence about repurchasing. I haven't seen the miracle healing that other reviewers mention. Neither of these are holy grail products for me. However, I will say that the UV protection for the one with SPF is legit! This particular product saved most of my face from a terrible sunburn when a Banana Boat product failed me so miserably. I have a light burn on my face (likely because I didn't slather this on or reapply it) whereas on the rest of my body where I used the Banana Boat sunscreen I am beet red. So, the UV protection is real! For that reason alone I may consider repurchasing. It does go on with a white cast but if you rub it in well and give it several minutes to absorb it disappears. I tried using the regular balm to help with healing my sunburn but it's not really doing much. Diluted ACV and coconut oil are working tremendously better.

Excellent moisturized and sunscreen combo. My dermatologist recommended it to me, and I’ve been using it for years. The white tint can be rubbed in. Great for sensitive skin and oily skin. Recommend for daily use. Good for under makeup too!

La Roche-Posay is another brand recognized by dermatologists as safe and effective with quality ingredients, solid research data, and moderate price point. This stuff feels great on the skin and I always appreciate anything that has a dual use. It calms my skin and has sunscreen: a pure win for me.
