This drop down loft hatches is fully compliant with Part L of Building regulations because it has 60mm thick Kingspan Polyurethane Insulation. This hatch is designed to be fitted with the minimum fuss and labour and provides simple, easy access through a ceiling into your loft space. The high impact, Kingspan polyurethane Insulation is 60mm thick making it very effective at insulating your property and provides a U-Value of 0.35W/m²K as outlined in the Robust Construct Details in Part L of Building Regulations. It is also CFC free. These loft doors meet the requirements of the BS 9250:2007, BS EN 13141-1:2004 & BS 5250: 2002, which cover air tightness of ceilings in pitched and horizontal roofs, air leakage rate through the loft hatch and frame and control of condensation in buildings. They have also been tested and meet the requirements of the Building Regulations 2000, Conservations of Fuel and Power in New Dwellings part L1A 2006 as well as the reasonable limit for the design air permeability of 10m³/(h.m²) at 50pa. The insulation used in all Manthorpe loft doors has an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 5. The revolutionary design of the multi-point catch mechanism means that our doors can maintain a more effective draught seal around the entire accessible opening, helping to meet the air leakage requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations and preventing the problem of moist warm air entering. Also the catches prevent wind uplift from drafty loft spaces. There is also a draught seal between the frame and the ceiling to prevent the problem of moist warm air entering the loft and meet the requirements of Part L. You will need to make an opening of 562mm wide x 726mm long to accommodate this hatch. Comes complete with 10 fixing screws and fitting instructions written in plain English. Made from plastic.
