Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked this product due to the brand as I have purchased other items from them and have been happy with the quality. I sometimes deal with nausea and read that eating candied or crystalized ginger helps with that. I have been using this for months to counter my nausea and it has ALWAYS helped and made it subside. I now carry a bit with me no matter where I go for knowing I have it just in case gives me comfort that I won't have to suffer. So very grateful to have discovered this remedy and this product works for me. Sugar content: The sugar content does not overtake the ginger taste for me. I don't like very sweet tastes especially when my stomach is revolting against me, and it gives the ginger taste a nice balance. Well done in my opinion. Stomach relief: As mentioned, this is a wonder remedy for me. I am so grateful and it works quickly in offering me relief. Texture: The texture is like chewing a protein bar, it's chewy but not anything that would deter me if I had dental issues I needed to be careful about. It's not hard nor is it like taffy or carmel, but it won't just dissolve you have to chew it. I find it is difficult to think about chewing anything when I am nauseated but the texture of this product is easy to take on. Addictiveness: Okay, it is a bit addictive. I mostly use this for when my stomach feels ill, but I have also taken it to ward off any issues ahead of time, or so I tell myself. Other family members have used it to snack on and one said it helped offer throat soreness relief when they had allergy/cold issues in early spring. The taste gives a warming sensation to your mouth and throat much like you get when eating ginger cookies, or drinking ginger ale. The taste is not overpowering but is definitely ginger and you will get the warmth sensation in your mouth and throat as you eat it. I have also used it to add a punch to my lemon ginger tea when I make it by letting it steep in the bottom of the tea cup while I am sipping it. Thickness: There are different size pieces to choose from and easy to bite into a manageable piece if you get a large one. Smell: Smells so good and fresh like you would expect fresh ginger to smell like as you cut it. I highly recommend and hope this helps you in making a decision to try it.

I've wanted to try crystallized ginger for quite some time, both for digestive issues, and... just because. I was so disappointed after I ate the first piece I almost threw the rest of the bag away. Ooh, I'm so glad I passed on that impulse!! Instead of just chomping down a big piece, I took it a bit slower with the next. For those who don't like that hot 'bite', just don't chew it up so much. The sugar really helps with that, also. I'll add that after time, I've come to like the sharp kick... probably too much. Fortunately, this bag has a Lot of ginger. It's very fresh and soft, so there's no worry about the ginger turning before I can eat it all. I'm sure it would be great in baking and cooking as well. The sizes of the slices varies, which I like. Some are longer and a bit thicker, while others are small as a nickel, but not too thin. I put some into a ziploc with a little sugar and let it open a while, to dry a few pieces out a bit. Those pieces were also great. I'll definitely be back for more... sooner than I'd planned.

This was recommended to me for nausea. As someone who loves both ginger and spice, I didn't hesitate to order. However, when they arrived, I found these candies to be surprisingly SPICY! (If you've never bitten into pure ginger before, you may not be prepared.) Yet, they DID help with my nausea. So, I cut the candies into smaller pieces--generally in half, although I cut some of the larger pieces in three--and shook them in a sealed snack-sized Ziploc bag with a bit of granulated sugar in it. This helped make the candies more palatable for me--sweeter and less spicy all at once. I carry them with me now and will reorder when I run out. I appreciate the clean, simple ingredients in this product--just ginger and sugar. Wishing you sweetness, spice and everything nice!
