Fantastic book, no matter how experienced and knowledgeable you are on the subject, there are still intriguing new things to learn in this book. It is all well laid out and succinctly worded, with useful diagrams where needed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about cats, whether in a professional capacity or simply as a cat lover.

J'ai commandé ce livre car j'avais vu et écouté l'auteur à la télévision. Je me pose des questions sur les chats je feuillette ce livre dans lequel je trouve des réponses.Il est écrit en anglais, il faut donc savoir lire l'anglais.Je ne regrette pas mon achat

I enjoyed reading the book, but I found it a hefty price for what I got from it. I appreciated the layout of the book - it introduces the reader to a lot of solid studies. At the same time, a lot of complex behaviours feel like you're left wanting for further insight. Not sure if this is a limitation on research available or on the writer, esp given the book is a little old by now and research is always advancing.

I have loved cats since, at age three of four my mother humored me and took in a stray orange cat that I named Meow Meow. I had a recent catless period of several years that ends this Saturday, when i will be adopting a beautiful blue point traditional Siamese kitten. nonetheless, I haven't had a cat for several years, and was feeling a bit out date on my knowledge. My reaction to that feeling of insufficient knowledge has been to devour a number of books about cats. of all the books, this one stands out well above the rest in terms of the quality, depth and breadth of information. It reads like a good college psychology textbook, except that it is the psychology of cats, not humans. If you're a cat nerd, work with cats, or are just looking for a book that is packed full of information on cats and don't mind giving your grey matter a bit of a workout, this is, IMO *THE* book to read. Once you finish, you'll be familiar with the latest theories on feline behavior, and the results of numerous cat studies. Pros: -lots of wonderful information -not dumbed down -includes academic references and charts to help you put the information in perspective. Cons: -expensive -*not* light reading. -it is printed in a pretty small font

I got this book for my daughter for Christmas and she’s so excited to get it as she works training kitties and dogs. This will help her understand what the kitties are thinking.
