Rhino Wax Trail Paw Wax for Dog Hiking, Rocks, Trails & Rough Terrain

Kept my pups paws safe through old rail trails covered in gravel.

This stuff is GREAT! i walk my two pups on hikes and on the street a lot. I apply before every outing and it helps so much with protecting their feet from the rough road and rough terrain. Def would recommend to any other dog parent.

First time using it on our dogs paws on a 5 days backpacking trip. I was very impressed with how well this worked for our dogs paws. We did a 16 mile day a year ago and our dogs paws were ripped up from rocks, pairing the wax with dog booties saved our German shepard paws on our 14 mile average days on the backpacking trip we just did. So glad we found this wax and recommended it for any hikers!

I didn't know something like this existed, and I was pretty skeptical about how effective it is at protecting my dog's paws. On our recent hiking trip, the trail was very rocky and slippery, so I didn't want to put boots on her to affect her traction. I applied the wax before leaving the house and let it set in for the 30 min drive to our destination. I had completely forgotten about it until we got back. As I was rinsing my dog's paws off, I noticed that her pads felt SO soft. Normally, they are rough to begin with, but this time around, her paws are still very moist and soft to the touch. The trail wax has a light, pleasant scent, and was buttery smooth, so it went on easily. My dog didn't seem bothered by it, unlike some other palm balms she's tried, and it also washed off easily. If you are on the fence, just get it.

I think the quality of the wax itself is pretty good! It does take a little bit to dry, but my dog is particularly restless. I will say I use some on her nose and it seemed to help.

It definitely does as advertised, will it save your dog from a cactus or searing hot pavement? Probably not; but we backpack upwards of 15 miles or more with our dog and I have noticed it helps on sharp/rough terrain where he'd usually start getting sore. It also helps me not worry if the rocks are to hot as I'd usually be scrambling to put on and off booties all day, I do think it would melt off in very hot conditions though, but combined with boots it's a huge winner in my book. It helps soothe and heal any previous scrapes or cuts too. overall I'll definitely be adding this to our "must have" trail bag.

I read the reviews on the paw wax mostly all positive . Let me tell you the honest truth . It stained my patio tile , it’s gooey and slippery . It’s a very bad product . I’m returning ! I’m still trying to get the wax stains up ., I would give it a zero but had to lock at least one star . I hope this helps just one person who is on the fence about purchasing.
