A bit pricey, but high quality sound for the spoken word. Bass sound good but not deep) RECOMMENDED
My actual score for these neck speakers is 4.6 because there’s no instructions included. As I had used this style of speaker before, I could get on with them.As no instructions, I assumed that they needed charging before use and I’m glad I did as they needed about an hour and a quarter before the charging light went out. Again, because I had used similar speakers, I knew how to set them up to make the bluetooth connection to my TV (for which these will be primarily used) by pressing and holding the start button until the unit beeped and a blue light started flashing. They immediately connected to the Panasonic TV.I then held down the volume (+) button until I could hear the TV sounds. I could then adjust the maximum volume using the TV remote. The sound quality is very good albeit that it could do with more base but, from the speaker sizes, that would be difficult. The clarity is the best I’ve heard from this type of speaker and, to be honest, probably the best for hearing the spoken word all togetherAn in-use battery life of about 12 hours seems to be the upper range standard for neck speakers and is more then enough for me as it gives a more-than-2-evenings-worth of listening. Now for the difficult part of the review, are they value-for-money? For my purposes perhaps yes, but not for everyone. Music is less well covered due to the lack of deep base so that may affect other’s viewpoint. If this type of speaker was made by a company whose trade name sound like fruit, the price would be nearer £400, so Sony’s £269 is probably fair (although one day after I ordered mine the price was reduced to £189 🤬, but that’s life!)My final part of the review is comfort. I’m an old man so I tend to watch TV sitting up in bed. I found that within a few minutes I had totally forgotten that the speakers were around my neck. Yes, if you move your head around, the sound come louder from one speaker than the other but, to be honest, that happens if listening direct from TV speakers anyway and, 99% of the time you really don’t notice.Overall, an extremely good opinion of my purchase and it’s the best spoken word clarity I have heard. I would recommend this unit to anyone other then those who would use ir primarily for music due to the low level of base (it is there, just not heavy nor deep)

Great rich sound, couple of issues.
Right, these are the third pair of neck speakers I’ve bought - the others being in the £30 price bracket. Now the £30 ones are absolutely fine but not amazing. However, these Sony ones deliver a sound experience which simply blows the others out of the water imho. A relatively deep and rich sound which is absolutely perfect for my laptop gaming. But are they worth it, as they’re not cheap (although mine were £60 off - thank you Amazon Warehouse). Well, that’s down to you. I use mine throughout the day on various tasks, so the I see the price as a worthwhile investment on the amount of use I will be getting out of them. However, if they’ll be for more casual use, it’s quite an outlay.Although I love them, I should mention the two cons which prevent me from awarding them 5/5 stars:1) Audio/visual synchronicity is not great. I don’t know what version of Bluetooth they use, but there’s a marked delay between what you see and what you hear that I feel is slightly more pronounced than other Bluetooth headphones.2) Because of the squarer shape around the neck as opposed to similar models, there’s a tendency for them slip into a ‘corner’ and become uneven around your neck. Not a huge deal, but it does drift.

Good quality bit still perhaps a bit expensive.
Really expensive! But the quality is there when it comes to sound reproduction for what is essentially headphones. I did not notice any lag when using these to watch films and tv which is a plus over cheaper neck speakers I had tried.I bought this to use with my projector as I am finding it more and more difficult to hear voices in movies and on TV without having to crank up the sound due to noisy teens next door. I had started using headphones but did not like being so isolated from other sounds in the house I want to hear such as the doorbell or microwave going off. So I bought these on a mad whim and decided not to look too closely at the price! The sound is pretty good but remember these are still tiny little speakers so while there is plenty of bass it lacks real depth, being louder rather than deeper to try and get the bass effect. Having said that bass wise these beat cheaper neck speakers I have tried by miles. As far as the surround sound effect goes it is negligible. There is a very clear stereo difference as you’d expect with a headphone like product. But the whole in front/behind is pretty minimal from my experience in the same way it is for my Sony headphones.Wearing them is OK on a chair or sofa but don’t start ‘lounging’ in them or using a recliner as they are only resting on your shoulders and slip back, or off completely. They could almost use an optional front strap to pull the front together and stop the movement. I have ended up using a strip of fabric and stick on velcro to make the neck fit a bit more secure I do have quite a wide neck however. All in all I am pretty pleased with this product although I can’t help but feel the full price is a bit to high

Not as advertised
Good sound quality. But people around you can still hear everything you listen to even on low volume. Overrated

Excellent purchase.
I love these shoulder speakers! For health reasons, I can not wear any kind of headphones that are near to my ears, in my ears or bone headphones. So, when I saw the Sony Bravia Theatre U shoulder speakers I had to get them. And I am very glad I did. They rest just below the actual shoulders, just below them. Sitting nicely and comfortably. I can hear very well. The volume up and down buttons are easy to access. Good value for the cost but not cheap. A purchase to think about. But you get what you pay for. For me they are excellent. Without these speakers I had to have radio and tv volumes up. (I really think my neighbours are grateful for my purchasing them as they can now hear their own radios/tvs, not mine.)

Great alternative to headphones or loud Tv/ Music noise
Wow.!! I say this based on listening to 3D on YouTube music videos such as Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody or Dire Straits Brothers in Arms videos and many more .Absolutely stunning music quality firing from all the speakers …and this wrapped around your neck so your completely emerged in your head to the sound……better than my B+w headphones for this although probably not better in absolute listening terms especially for music…and I can still hear what’s going on around me so a win win win…..also very good with movies where you can definitely here the effects even without a Sony Bravia TV which they recommend for ultimate surround sound…not quite Dolby atoms on these with my set up.Overall I think this is a brilliant bit of kit that is the middle ground of not disturbing others with loud noise and not being totally distracted whilst wearing headphones…..well done Sony,!

Pointless ?!
So the marketing says you can wear these and other people in the room are not disturbed - I would strongly disagree with this (just ask my wife!). They are unenclosed speakers and can be heard very clearly by other people in the room. They are also not particularly comfortable - if you are in a chair with a high back to rest your head you can feel the bar across the back of the neck. However, paired with the transmitter on a 2020 Bravia A90J, the sound quality is good although it may be lacking bass with the volume turned up.Overall it is the "doesn't disturb other people" statement that is the problem, but I should have known this from the product description rather than relying on the marketing hype. As a result of this you might as well just use the TV speakers or soundbar is they are Atmos compatible.

Pleased with purchase
It is as described. They connected directly to my TV (both a LG and then a Sony) via bluetooth, no need for the additional Sony transmitted (sold separatly). Great for sound without disturbing others. Some reviews complain that others can hear them; you will as they are open speakers, for personal use. I like them as they allow decent sound, whilst not disturbing others. I also linked to my phone, but for calls not as good as my airpods.

Brava SONY prodotto eccellente!!

A clear and vibrant upgrade.
I bought the Sony SRS NS7 a couple of years back and those sounded great but they lacked bass. These new Theater U sound as good but with the added lows that the NS7 were missing I even hear sub at time, and as you can now save eq setting to the unit you get much more sound for the money you pay. The unit supports dual connectivity and dual pairing (2 BT units). Update: bought two of these and yes, they work perfectly. Great for late night movies or gaming.Note:If you already own the WLA NS7 (The Sony Bluetooth puck) then the Theater U will connect to it and give you t Atmos/3D Tempest and Low latency Ldac (Only for Sony products) which is great for movies and Playstation 5 gaming. And if you own 2 of the Theater I you can connect them simultaneously. The connection is spotless and I've been easily 20 Meyers from the BT transmitter and still get awesome Ldac sound through sometimes 2 walls. It's a great upgrade and a welcome addition to any household that either has a young child or pets that they don't want to disturb during their beauty sleep.Strongly recommended!

Oren vrij !
Last van zwetende oren met koptelefoons. Dit is de oplossing. Zeer goed geluid, zelfs virtueel surround is overtuigend en gemakkelijk te bedienen met top-Sony-kwaliteit.

Great product with good built quality
These speakers are fantastic for enjoying movies without disturbing anyone in the next room. The sound quality is impressive, and they're very comfortable to use. The only drawback is that Dolby Atmos support is limited to Sony TVs, which is too restrictive.
