I’ve been on the hunt for a trustworthy tallow sun balm, and I’m glad to say I’ve finally found one. This balm is a solid choice if you’re looking to move away from sunscreens with questionable chemicals. The product is a bit thicker, so you do need to take your time rubbing it in, and if you apply too much, it can leave a slight white cast. However, the extra effort is worth it for the peace of mind that comes with using minimal and natural ingredients. It’s fragrance-free and leaves my skin with a nice glow without peeling or flaking, even after reapplying. Overall, it’s a reliable sun protection option that aligns with my preference for cleaner skincare products. Solid Product.

I've only used it a couple of times, but so far, I love it. It's a small jar but I've noticed that a little goes a long way and it rubs in so nicely and leaves my face feeling very soft. It does leave just a little bit of a white cast from the zinc, but it gets less so the more you rub it in and I kind of like a little of the white cast because I feel that helps hide any redness on my face. between using this and the tallow face cream I get from Traditional Nutrients, my face is looking and feeling so much better. I actually feel comfortable now not wearing makeup. I've been wanting to replace all my face products with products that have only natural and minimal ingredients and so far, I am very happy with this sunscreen.

I’ve been using this beef tallow balm for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. This will not protect you from getting sunburn. I was recently in Hawaii and the first 5 days was using Mad Hippie brand spf 40. On my last day since I had built a tan I decided to use this one since I had also brought it with me. I was in the sun for about 3 hours. I applied this product throughout the day. I was in the water and also sitting in a chair on the beach. Each time I put more on, so I wouldn't get burnt. This product provided zero protection. I wouldn't recommend this product.

This sunblock has clean ingredients with just beef tallow and zinc oxide. I bought this for a recent trip to Florida and while I still got fried, its because I didn't really re-apply :) When I used it this weekend back up north on my face before pool time, I did not get sunburn at all. -Compared to other brands its priced OK. -Does it work? Yes! Reapply it in high UV index. -Hows it go on? Easy to apply, very creamy. Doesnt feel greasy IMO. -Does it leave a white cast? Yes, all zinc oxides do. But the more you rub it in, the less it looks white -Does it smell like beef tallow? Kinda, yes! If you can get over that, go ahead and buy it. -Should they have put a scent in it? Definitely. Perhaps another mix cut with something that smells a bit better like jojoba, coconut or almond oil would be better.

Yes, there’s a slight smell to it, but it goes away. The product is smooth and easy to blend in and it did not leave a white cast (except on my bathing suit). It worked well because there were areas where I did not apply it and those burned. Best part is it is moisturizing and not greasy and non toxic! I’m very impressed with this product and can’t wait to try the regular moisturizer- tallow with honey and beeswax. I also have the lip balm and I love it!

If you are like me, you want your child to have the healthiest possible options for sunscreen this is it. Only 2 ingredients! Grass fed beef tallow and Non nano zinc oxide. My daughter has very sensitive skin and got a horrible sunburn earlier in the summer and I haven't felt good about putting the chemical filled regular sunscreen on her. This was the least expensive, healthy option to use until I can render my own beef tallow! It is a small jar, but it's glass so that's nice. It has a faint scent that my husband swears smells like stew... but it's hardly noticeable and fades over time. It does leave your skin looking a but white, but I'd rather have that than get a sunburn OR have chemicals soak into your skin! Love it so much we've bought it 3 times!
