Amazon reviews leave you with more questions than answers. Is it an effective test or not?

It is just a simple test to say whether your stool sample tests positive or negative for H-Pylori. Yes, its gross to have to take a stool sample but it does the job & could give you an answer as to why you are having stomach problems. Doctors don't always do this test straight away, they would rather pump you full of PPI drugs than find the root cause to the problem. Hope this is helpful to you : )

Will this test still show a positive of taking a ppi like omeprazole?

Yes doctors should ask you to wait 2 to 4 weeks to repeat test after omezaprol has left the system as it can alter the results

Does this kit test for ulcers?

Some stomach ulcers are caused by the helicobacter H Pylori bacteria apparently. This test is to find out if you have that bacteria.

H pylori can be in the body but inactive. does this test discriminate between active and non active?

It will detect whether you have H Pylori or not. If it’s inactive you won’t have symptoms, but it’s still detectable by stool tests.
