I installed more than 20 of these cameras for a client and they are very easy to configure. - Zoom feature is digital. Usable and useful - Works out of the box with minimal configuration and when used with a compatible NVR - Picture quality is great - I love the low light quality. "Turns night into day" and better than the IR assisted video. It's got IR as well but I prefer using the color mode . - Time tested and works outdoors without any issues in -10F temperatures of NY - Great camera for the price.

Very good camera, relatively easy to install, and it automatically adds to a reolink NVR. It would be nice if it had a similar mounting system to the 820A models. It has a nice wide field of view and good night vision range, especially indoors. The biggest consideration is making sure the dome is very clean inside and out to keep from having really bad IR glare at night.

Use it in front and works really good. Good picture in day and night.

I run a compete Reolink system. Of 8 cameras, 5 of them are the RLC840. Decent FOV, great night vision, and excellent configurability. Other cameras in use are a RLC1240, Elite Pro Floodlight PoE, and a Duo 3v PoE.

We were looking for a wired camera system for our house, and had received a couple of rec’s for Reolink. I have to say, the clarity and range the camera picks up is incredible. My only negative feedback is that when it rains, the camera will sometimes recognize rain as a “person” in our driveway. This can be annoying especially n the middle of the night with the alerts going off non stop. Otherwise, excellent system and cameras.

Reolink must really study their market carefully. This camera looks nice, and eventually functions "good enough," but it's not a great camera package - just, "OK." Whoever you buy your Reolink products from plan on updating the firmware before you get up on the ladder. They seem to ship the hardware first and ship the "fixes" later via software updates. And, don't drill all the holes until you get used to what your "product" can actually do. We had many surprises by how "just by a little bit" Reolink products don't do all they "should." They do look good once installed, and they work "OK," but they sure don't do anything extra in any sense. Having gotten used to them we've learned to trust nothing and to count on "figuring it out" - while being quick to return things that can't be made to work. (That return window closes fast when you hit a snag...) "OK" camera, silly mounting issues, limited adjustment options once in place, and "almost good" performance - nearly every time - after you work for it. Expect no help from any manuals with the product and almost nothing from "Support." Neither exists in sufficient quantity with Reolink. Too bad too, because if they knew their own products better and supported them better Reolink could have a much better reputation. So close, so often... So, "so-so."

This camera is wonderful! The picture is clear right out of the box (Even though I always update the firmware just to make sure there are no complications). I installed it about 8 feet off the ground on my smaller garage (under the soffit) where it would be exposed where someone could break it. It is rugged and feels great quality! It took me longer to fish the cable up inside the soffit and down to our outlet where I would inject POE than it did to screw into the soffit... Because of how I set up my network, it was instantly detected on the NVR and added! Total installation, less than 5 minutes! (although your mileage may vary depending on how your network is setup!)

We brought these and the duel cameras as well. Delighted with then. Well worth the money.

Great camera, sets up in very little time. I was able to install without NVR or on board sd card, utilizing Frigate. Some of the functions like lights are not available through frigate currently. Great image quality, very stable, have not had to reboot it in months.

I spent weeks comparing PoE security cameras before settling on this one, and here's what I discovered that the product page doesn't mention. First, the network setup can be tricky if your router is far from the camera location, so I had to run an Ethernet cable through my attic which cost extra time. The color night vision is legitimately impressive once you dial in the IR balance in settings, but out of the box it leans too warm. The panoramic view is useful but there's a learning curve understanding the motion zones. What actually sold me though was how well it handles backlight situations compared to my neighbor's cheaper camera. Video clarity at night is dramatically better than competitors I tested. The PoE power is convenient if you have the infrastructure already. My biggest complaint is the documentation could be clearer on the admin panel settings. Overall this performs like cameras twice the price, but factor in installation time and potential networking hiccups before ordering.

Easy setup and works well. While software is much better than my previous cams, it sometimes thinks a bug flying by is a person or the shadow from the sun will trigger the motion detection... so I think it could use some improvement in that regard
