Always trusted this brand but wish I didn't have to replace the mounting bracket with new units. Seems needless. Love 10 yr life and dependability though.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Very easy to install, however within the first month one started to give an error beep. I called the company to get a replacement and was told I would have a new one within 6 weeks… it’s been about 8 weeks and I still have not received the replacement. Now a second unit (installed in a different room) is doing the same thing. I’m not even going to bother calling… it’s a waste of my time. I’ll be looking to replace all 3 now. Very disappointed.

Easy to install, doesn’t fit old unit base

I didn't even have to change the base from my 6 year old, older model Kidde. This one just fit right on it. And, no batteries to bother with!

Using the QR code to register asks for a Province and not a state yet slide 6 on the carousel a map of the United states has a drop down of Canadian Providences and not states. SO i think on the map a comment on Registration: if in purchasing for USA please select Other for Province. A lil more complex to install than the 9 volters/AAs from Home Depot Font on manual requires a magnifying glass. Should have a QR code to download manual or render on a browser for quicker install. My last kidde combo alarm worked perfectly for years with regular 9 Volt replacement schedule and chirped twice after 2 months after end of life replacement date...so spot on there. Be nice to see if this lasts to replace date with no regular battery changes...10 yrs baby!! An now we can set tasks in AI or just schedule things on a calendar app instead of sticking with changing the clocks time or Xmas or 4th. But it was nice to know that before LLMs and Ai Agents, that the product chirp timer pattern worked on a much older detector. Product Registration was successful- confirmed with email. Aside: Using blue and red on map to fill state boarders according to "State has CO Alarm Requirements" and "State has CO Alarm and Smoke Alarm Requirements" are American colors, but in these highly polarizing political times it looks like a GOP DEM map)

the 3 beep indicating that there's an internal error or malfunction is driving me insane. This clearly does NOT last 10 years. It's about 1 year old...it's been doing the three beep error basically since we purchased it but initially it was maybe once every month or two and a reset would help. Now we have to reset it every single day and sometimes multiple times a day. This is useless. Wakes us up at night. I cannot recommend this to others with this issue. Its beeping in the other room right now. It will continue every single minute until I go reset it. I want to throw it in the trash but hate that I spent so much money on it anticipating it would work for 10 years
