Manufacturing Elective
I needed this book for a manufacturing elective. It worked wonderfully - I probably could have skipped class and just read the book. Very well worded explanations for the techniques.

Good Text. Beware the typos!
From a student's perspective, this is a very good textbook on manufacturing. I must give a warning however to both students and professors, however. This book is chock-full of typos. I'm not talking small, grammar-related typos; I'm talking about significant typos such as formula errors: variables missing, variables inside parentheses that should be outside them, etc. (If you have the text, note equations 11.3 and 11.4 on p. 243 for fairly blatant examples.)

Great Book
Contains a great summary of many manufacturing methods. The videos contained with it are helpful as well. Would definitely recommend this.

Goes into a lot of detail, but a lot of the information is rather useless
Needed this for a Manufacturing Process & Materials class and really ended up not using it much. It contains a ton of information and goes into great detail for some of the most minor things, some of it great to know, a lot of it was rather useless. I found myself just skimming through chapters rather than reading them. Overall, if you need this book for a college class, see how the info in the book and the material your professor is teaching you line up. If the professor looks like he's skimming through the book himself for his class lecture, then you will probably not need this book at all and it'll save yourself a few hundred bucks.

Very Useful
So much detail, very well diagrammed, has a LOT of important information, and is definitely a staple of any Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer.
