Flavor is definitely not what I was expecting
I bought this on recommendation from my dietitian, as I am preparing for gastric sleeve surgery. The image I had in my mind when I heard the words "bone broth" was something similar to the homemade beef or chicken stock I have prepared from scratch in the past- we raise our own chickens and get beef from neighbors, and before I had a full-time job I used to make my own stock by boiling bones and chicken feet. It was time consuming but worth it- freaking delicious; I'd freeze portions to use in cooking other meals. So when I heard I could add bone broth to my diet for added protein, I was really looking forward to adding a convenient pre-made, easy to drink broth that was similar to my homemade stock. What I didn't take into consideration was when I made my own, I also added my own seasonings & salt to satisfy my personal preferences. Which made it that much more enjoyable. This product was apparently seasoned by someone who considers mayonnaise spicy, or someone who has no taste buds. On its own, it is suuuuper bland with a weird, semi-beefy aftertaste that lingers in the back of your throat, almost like it's hanging onto that dangly thing and refusing to budge. It also doesn't smell appetizing at all, even after heating. (Not that it smells *bad* but the smell is a lot like the taste....it almost smells like nothing, but there is a sliiight hint of a weird, almost iron-y odor to it that does absolutely nothing to enhance the appeal factor) I prepared my first serving at work, and I was so put off by the whole taste sensation that I was not able to drink a full serving. Maybe it's because my expectations were totally prepared for something different, but it was quite off-putting after a few big sips. It occurred to me afterwards that it would probably be vastly improved with some salt and some other seasoning, but since I was at the office I didn't have any of that on hand. I still have 3 boxes left at home and I'm not giving up yet. Once the unpleasant memory of the initial experience fades, I plan to give it another try, and this time experiment with some sea salt & maybe some sage or chili powder. If I can get it to resemble the taste of my homemade stock, or even taste more like plain ol' beef broth, then I will be able to add this to my menu :)

Very low collagen content
I’ve been searching for a tasty bone broth that is actually enjoyable to drink, as most I’ve tried have tasted too bland. This one ( at least the beef flavor because that’s the only one I purchased and tried) is actually tasty.. although it really doesn’t taste like anything more than water with beef bouillon cubes. So the taste is good.. however the whole reason I like bone broth is for the collagen and its health benefits. This bone broth must have a very low collagen content because it does not ‘gel’ at all in the refrigerator. Gelatin is the cooked form of collagen. Gelatin is what makes a bone broth ‘gel’ into a thick non liquid consistency when refrigerated. ( which then turns into liquid broth again when heated) the less a bone broth ‘gels’ the less collagen content it has. This bone broth doesn’t gel at all and stays in the same liquid form as it is when it pours out of the box, even after a whole day in the refrigerator it’s still completely liquid. There may be other nutritional attributes to this bone broth such as some protein, and perhaps a small amount of collagen, but not the amount some other bone broths have that do gel up., and probably not enough to notice benefits. I’ll be starting to make my own so I can get the full collagen benefits plus an enjoyable taste. Lots more work but less expensive in the long run and healthier.

Outstanding bone broth for breaking your fast
First of all the three pack price on Amazon absolutely destroys buying three of these at my local grocery store. Secondly, when I take part in an extended fast of 24 hours or longer, I will drink an entire box of this bone broth to break my fast. If you are put off by the price, please do not be, as it is hard to find a bone broth with the high-quality ingredients that this company uses.

The Bone Broth soup taste better then I expected. Very light and un-bonie.
I was thinking I was going to have hold my nose to drink the very nutritious bone broth soup. To my surprise it was very light and didn't have a bone marrow or gristle taste I was expecting. I bought it to drink as the first meal after a 36 hour water fast. Easy on the stomach.
