The "uvBeast V2 - Black Light" changed our life and brought great peace of mind!
We are Las Vegas NV natives, and until about five years ago, never saw scorpions in the house or yard. However, the influx of palm trees (dislike them intensely, had ours removed) and drought-driven high winds has proliferated them. Rather than risk the stinging encounter reported by friends, we took preemptive actions. We decided to not exterminator pesticide spray, because we didn't want to poison the wild plants and animals, nor our pets (no dogs or cats, just torts and birds). We keep our yard meticulously clean, food scrap and doody patrol twice every day. Yet, to no avail. With our old blacklight we would discover the flourescent monsters, especially coming over unattentive neighbors walls :( We have our own manual catch method, which is Very Effective. Now, with the "uvBeast V2 - Black Light", our manual method is Ultra Effective! We go out about 8:45 PM in the summer (earlier in the other seasons), after the sun has fully set, and it is night time dark. We have a set route through our back and front yards, along the walls of the outer perimeter, and other areas of our porches and garages/sheds. My husband's tools and job are to carry the "uvBeast V2 - Black Light" to spot the ugly ones, and a weighted rubber mallet with a 2" diameter flat surface head for striking and crushing. My tools and job are to carry the 8" hemostats with the sideways curved tip for reaching and grabbing, and a plastic ziplock sandwich baggie lined with a 1/2-size piece of damp paper towel for depositing the corpses and wiping the hemostat tips. If we find one in crevices, I deftly tweeze it out and put it on the ground for my husband to slam with the mallet (not too hard, so the juice doesn't squirt in our face, just enough to crush, kill). If we find one flat on the wall or ground, it gets the mallet directly, and then I peel tweeze its remains off the flat surface and bag the skin, wiping the stats on the paper towel through the plastic barrier. The "uvBeast V2" is so piercingly bright and wide scope it spots the tiniest babies -YUK! And we pick them up with a tweezer-mallet squish. Then we proceed to scan through all the inside rooms of the house. At the end of the expedition, the baggie is ziplocked shut and tossed in the garbage. If you have experienced the scorpion invasion, you understand the urgency. This "uvBeast V2" blacklight has spared us many frightful possibilities, and is far superior to lesser blacklights we used before discovering it. We have been using this "uvBeast V2" for the past two years, and we sleep in peace, no more dread. FYI, we also deploy, and highly recommend, "TOMCAT" Scorpion Glue Boards (pesticide-free, superior catch&hold, extra large capture area, made in usa) (imho, this is the best brand, tried others), folded up and baited in the inside bottom center with a penny-sized dab of peanut butter. Placed strategically indoors around the house along the sidewalls and baseboards (inside front/back door entrances, bedroom, bathroom, living room, den, kitchen, dining room, pantry/laundry room) for extra protection! You'll really like that the glueboards also capture all kinds of roaches, water bugs, spiders, silverfish, flies, moths, worms, in addition to the intended scorpions. Hope this helps! UPDATE MAY 2024: Recently upgraded to the "New V3 385-395nm Black Light UV Flashlight - HIGH Power Upgraded Triple Broad Band LEDs Best for Professional/Commercial Use"! Supercharged! Still use the V2 for indoors, and use the new V3 for outdoors. The V3 relays "too much information" for regular indoor use ;) PLEASE BE SURE to wear quality protective yellow lens UV filtering eyewear when using either the V2 or V3, or any UV flashlight!!!

Darn thing actually works!
Pros: I used it the day it arrived and within 15 minutes I found 11 Scorpions, 10 of which were tiny babies and this was along a 100 foot length of the east perimeter fence right next to my house. It lights up Scorpions at about ten feet even if they are tiny babies. Maybe further, but that's as far as I have used it distance wise. You see that blue spot and as you get closer you can see the very clear outline of a Scorpion. When you are up close you see the Scorpion clearly and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Without this light you'd never know it was there until it's too late. Gives me the creeps knowing how may times I've traversed the same area in shower shoes. Never again! The fence line there borders BLM land. Went out again on Safari looking for Scorpions and found more more next to the Pistachio trees and the well. Again, gives me the creeps knowing how many times I've been there wearing only shower shoes sandals on my feet. I've never seen so many Scorpions in my life as I have in the past two days and right on my own property. Of course the one I found in the kitchen was what got all this started. Now I hunt Scorpions. Body design of this light and materials seems well constructed, good quality. Doesn't look nor feel like some cheap stamp out. The entire body of it is milled for easily having a solid grip on it. The only thing that could have made this even better is if it had been made in U.S.A. UVBeast needs to work on that. Now have used Onslaught FastCap Scorpion killer. We'll see how well that works out when I check with my new UVBeast2 later. Cons: When I first opened the package and went to install the batteries a rubber O-ring type gasket fell onto the table as I unscrewed the end cap. It had been ripped apart. I'm guessing it's supposed to seal the battery cap, but this one never made it to my home in proper condition. I'll be contacting the manufacture about this tomorrow if all goes well. Other than that, no problems. I did notice that despite this using LEDs, or at least that's what they look like, the head of the light gets really warm. It's not any problem, just an observation. Doesn't seem to harm anything. I suppose it can't be helped, but this light will also light up some kinds of debris type trash. For example, if your dog ran off with a pillow out into the yard and chewed it to death that white cotton like stuffing also lights up with that same blue dot effect. Stuff you didn't even know was in your yard. Of course you can quickly tell the difference between that and a Scorpion. Make no mistake, there is no mistaking that very detailed outline. Recommendation: Definitely happy with this UV light so far. Highly recommend it. It's going to get a lot of use. Like I said, it gives me the creeps knowing that I've got such a Scorpion infestation, but now that I know I can do something about it. Scorpions can be deadly to children and the elderly, not to mention life threatening to just about anyone. Most definitely will give you a very bad day if you survive getting stung by one. They're voracious climbers, though surprisingly I didn't find any in the trees. Climbing up the side of your home though and into the attic via a gable vent is definitely not good. That allows them access to your home via any space around a ceiling fan, light fixtures, register, vent, attic access door, or up-duct they can fit through. If you have a ceiling fan over your bed you won't be sleeping too well knowing what might drop down onto that fan motor housing and then onto your blanket. That's horror movie stuff right there. Update: I contacted the folks at UVBeast about the O-ring issue. Great conversation with Karl and exceptionally helpful with supplying extra knowledge for hunting Scorpions. Willing to help immediately on the first contact. Now that's customer service! O-ring replacements are on the way. Two other points: 1) The spare O-rings were supposed to be in the bubble wrap bag with the flashlight and might be easily missed. Well, they weren't, but this might help others to know where to look. 2) It's claimed that the light doesn't work on tiny baby Scorpions and adult Scorpions that have recently went through their molt due to a lack of florescence. I don't know about the molt thing, but I can tell you that this light will most definitely light up those tiny babies like little blue beacons. Found 10 of them along the over a 100 foot east perimeter fence line going forward towards the front of the property in ten minutes. Ya, it definitely works. :o) Update 2: Well, I laid down a spray of Onslaught FastCap Scorpion killer and the following day started using the UVBeast2 to look for Scorpions. It's been near two weeks now and not one single Scorpion has been spotted. So far, Peace of mind. Side note: For those of you who want to tease your wife, and are in a position to not find yourself on the receiving end of a rolling pin thumping, I noticed something else that UVBeast2 does. If you are using cast iron for cooking and you think it's perfectly clean, whip out your UVBeast2, turn off the lights, and then call for the Misses. If you survive what she sees on that cast iron then either it's actually clean or the Misses is going to be demanding new cookware. Quite possibly you will as well. :oD

Great for charging glow in the dark toys!
My son is 4. He loves anything that glows in the dark. He has a ceiling full of glow in the dark stars, which is great, but in the winter there just isn't enough light to charge them up before bedtime. Ordinary UV lights have a tiny beam and it takes forever to get everything charged. This thing is a GAME CHANGER. A quick sweep of the room and EVERYTHING glows brightly! The only caveat is that it (not surprisingly) chews through batteries, so it helps to have a couple sets of rechargeable AAs on hand. Would recommend to any tired parent who needs to make things glow crazy bright as fast as possible. A caution to said parents and pet owners: don't point it at the floor unless you want to know every biological insult that has ever befallen your home. Aim it at the glow stars on the ceiling only. You have been warned!

Good light
Light works as it should. Do not buy this light if you are wanting to use it to find yooper lites. It does not work for that. But otherwise, its a great light. Works great to find chicken eggs.

Turns Out My House Was WAY Grosser Than I Thought
The uvBeast V2 Black Light UV Flashlight is seriously powerful. It throws out a strong UV beam that lights up stains, pet messes, and even scorpions like a crime scene investigation. The wide flood beam covers a lot of area fast, and it still works great in well-lit rooms or outdoors. It even spotted stuff from nearly 90 feet away. It’s built tough and feels solid in your hand, though it’s a bit on the bulky side. It runs on six AA batteries, which do drain pretty fast with heavy use...but that’s the tradeoff for the brightness. Bonus: it comes with UV glasses to protect your eyes. If you need a no-nonsense black light that actually does the job right, this one’s worth it.

The glasses are a MUST
The glasses REALLY make this UV flashlight pop, you definitely want to wear these. Build quality seems okay, this is not a toy and is not drop-proof or water-proof as far as I can tell. It's a bit pricey but it is MUCH brighter than the smaller, cheaper UV Flashlight I replaced. Takes 6 AA batteries, haven't used it long enough to know battery life. Using Amazon Basic rechargeable AA batteries and so far so good.

Amazing light for the cost.
There are a bunch of copycat lights that are slightly less expensive. Don't buy them. The UVBeast are only slightly more money and have an amazing warranty from an amazing team. I use these for disc golf glo rounds and they're amazing for that. They don't "throw" very far but that's perfect for my purposes. I have the UVBeast V1 and V2. The V2 is slightly better than it's predecessor but seeing as they're only $10 apart, totally worth the upgrade unless you have a super strict budget. The only downside to both is they're both power hungry at 6 AA batteries a piece. I don't care for rechargeable batteries but i've heard great things from people who use them with these. I just don't. I've also got a V3 coming in the mail, I will try and circle back to make a comparison of the 3.

The best UV torch going
Super UV torch which charges the lume on your wristwatch to max pretty much instantly! A bit heavier than others coz if the batteries and overall size, but certainly the strongest beam. The supplied UV protection glasses come in handy for prolonged use too.
