Best shredder I've ever owned.
This is by far the best shredder I've owned. What I like most is its durability - I had numerous old documents I needed to get rid of (tax returns and receipts, etc. from as far back as the 1970's). I can sit and shred for hours and this machine never 'gives up.' It has never once overheated, jammed or had any other problem: just keeps on working. Very easy to use, quiet, and quite powerful considering it is relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended!

Great product
Seems good. Says 14 sheets. Don't want to test that many. Cuts 5 sheets fine.

Nice little shredder
This is a good little shredder for an at home office. It says it has an 8 sheet capacity, I can hear it straining with about 6 but it will slowly chomp through some thick paper. I place no more than about 4 or 5 pages and it shreds them with no problem. I guess it takes about 10 seconds or so? I shredded a lot of old teacher paperwork and I did have to let it cool after probably 30 minutes of almost nonstop use. Itโs rated for about 5-10. It has a normal shredder noise level. Itโs not quiet but not excessively loud, to my noise tolerance. It shreds into those small strips about 1 inch by 1/2 inch? You do have to empty it regularly, and there is always some paper left in the teeth so I almost make a little bit of a mess. There is an auto off/kill switch when you pull it from the basket so if you have kids or forget to turn it off before lifting the shredder from the basket, it will automatically shut off. I think itโs worth the money, especially if you arenโt using it for stacks of paper all the time.

Fairly small shreds, quiet for the capacity
Paper Shredder for Home Office, VidaTeco 10-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder with US Patented Cutter, Also Shreds Card/CD/Clip, Paper Shredder for Home Use Heavy Duty, Durable with Jam Proof, 3.9-gallon Bin(ETL) The shredder comes securely packaged in a brown recyclable cardboard box. Inside the box, the shredder is further. Cushioned by Styrofoam. Unfortunately, and my area Styrofoam is not recyclable. The shredding head is packaged inside of the trash bin portion of the shredder to take up less space. Looking at the top side of the shredder, there is a silver sliding switch that has three positions. Left is auto for automatic shredding, the middle position is off, and the right side position is a reversing function, in case you get something stuck. Stuck. The top of the shredder also has an indicator LED that glows blue when it is plugged into power and will turn red if you have to overheat the shredder. Crossed the middle slightly to one side is the slot for the paper to be shredded. They have a whole bunch of universal symbols. Marked no as in. Do not do this. Don't let kids play with it, don't put your hands in it, don't let your hair into the slot, don't try to shred aerosol devices and don't let your clothing in the slot. They also note on the lid that this is a maximum of 10 sheets. On the lower half of the lid underneath the shredding slot is a location for you to put credit cards to be shredded. The lid also has a customer service email printed right onto the top. That's a very good idea. In case you should ever run into problems. Along one side of the lid near the electric plug is a built-in handle that folds flush so that you can lift it up to easily pull the top from the base. This will make dumping out the trash easier. Looking at the garbage can portion, this looks very much like a small office or bedroom style can with one exception. Exception. Along the middle of one side of the lid, there is a little slot cut with a finger plastic that sticks up to hit a switch inside the lid when it is set on top of the can properly. This is a safety so that it cannot be operated with the lid removed. The front of the can has a small window about 3x4 of clear plastic so you can see how much shreds have built up. That way you can empty the can before it fills up too much. Looking at the instruction manual, everything seems fairly straightforward. The instructions do talk about using it to shred CDs, even though the top of the shredder doesn't say anything about that. There is one unusual notation in the instructions, they tell you not to lubricate the shredder. This is a new one for me, I've never seen a shredder that doesn't need to be lubricated upon occasion, but the manufacturer says this one does not. The instructions also note that this has a duty cycle with 3 minutes on and 40 minutes off. It also notes that this unit is equipped with thermal protection so that if it overheats it'll stop automatically and then resume after it cools down. The instructions also note that this unit is designed to shred up to 10 sheets of standard A4 paper, one credit card at a time or one CD/ DVD at a time, or one junk mail. I'm not certain how they are measuring their junk mail, but I would recommend removing it from the envelope and shredding it piece by piece rather than throwing a fat envelope of junk mail in there at once. The instructions go on to say that this unit will not shred continuous forms, adhesive labels, transparencies, newspaper, cardboard, or laminates. It also will not shred file folders, x-rays or plastic other than the CDs and credit cards noted above. The instructions go on to say that there is a 12-month warranty from date of purchase, and that for warranty they require you to keep a receipt of the purchase and the original packaging.(( I've noticed this with several manufacturers lately, they require you to keep the original packaging. Am I supposed to have a room full of nothing but empty boxes? Receipts? I can understand but packaging seems a bit over the top.) Underneath the lid (the business side) the shredding teeth seem to be sharp and numerous. There's actually a small piece of paper stuck in the teeth where they have tested it in the factory. After using the shredder to do a small pile of home paperwork, she says that she likes the way it shuts off in between pages. She also likes the handle on the top because it makes it easier to lift off the top and empty the waste basket underneath. The window in the side of the wastebasket is smaller than our old one, but it is still big enough to see when the wastebasket is getting full. Even though this is a cross-hatch shredder, some of the little slivers of paper are as long as an inch and a half, and some are as long as 3-in pieces, but most of them are much smaller.

Great Home Use Model
Shredder is a great home use model. It says up to fourteen pages, but actually does good up to about ten standard sheets. Great to shred, credit cards and other important documents. As well. Surprisingly, this model does not require shredder. Oil like most of them do. It is said to be self lubricated and needs no oiling. Peep through window. Let you know when it's time to stop shredding and empty the basket. Fairly quiet operation.

Fluffy paper
a lot quieter than expected, makes fluffy paper, you will need to push paper down half way through the five minutes. Can't use a different box underneath. Only does 2 rounds of 5 minutes on, 20 minutes rest before it's too hot. I don't know about the quality but it works well, and is a good price. Speed is good.

A Solid, No-Fuss Shredder for the Price (But Mind the Sheet Limit)
It gets the job done without breaking the bank After my old shredder gave up the ghost, I needed a reliable replacement without a hefty price tag. This model caught my eye with its strong reviews, and after putting it through its paces, I can see why it's popular. It's a great value for occasional use, with one important caveat. Here's the honest breakdown: The Good: Cross-Cut Security: This was a must-have for me. The cross-cutting feature gives me real peace of mind that my sensitive documents are properly destroyed, not just strip-cut into long, potentially re-assemblable confetti. Auto Mode is Handy: The auto-start/stop feature is convenient. You feed in a paper, and it whirs to life automatically. It's great for a shredding session where you're going through a stack of mail. Budget-Friendly Winner: For the price, it's hard to beat. It feels well-built enough for home office use and tackles standard junk mail, credit card offers, and old bills with ease. The Considerations (The "But..."): 8-Sheet Limit is Real: The most important thing to know is the 8-sheet capacity. If you try to push it with a thick wad of papers, it will jam or stall. You need to be disciplined and feed it smaller batches. For my needs (mostly daily mail), it's fine, but if you have large volumes of documents to shred regularly, you'd need to invest in a more powerful (and expensive) model. Standby Mode & Energy: I loved the auto-on feature at first, but I did notice it sits in a standby mode, which does consume a trickle of electricity. I've since made a habit of turning it on only when I need it, which is a minor extra step. For infrequent use, this is the smarter way to go. The Verdict: This shredder is a perfect fit for someone who needs basic, secure document destruction for light-to-moderate home use. If you primarily shred daily mail and the occasional stack of old bills, it's a fantastic value. Just respect its 8-sheet limit, and consider turning it off between uses to save energy. For the price, it's a reliable workhorse that does exactly what most people need it to do. Recommended for the average home user!
