Both 33 or 37 inch will work good .

What size for an eight year old?

33" for up to 150 lbs-that's the size I got for my grandson who was 6 years at the time

What size for a 4ft and 65lb 8yr old boy?

We bought the larger 41 inch and 45 inch for all of us. They work great.
